JAH, all except for 3 has already been answered in previous posts. But the answer to almost all of them is pretty much the same. They've done lots of revisions we wont have seen before they got to something they were happy to show. When you're doing a production run of lets say 100 units, decisions need to be made based on need versus cost.

"Out of the mold, they will all be black for now.
3 options for the customers in regards to bezel colors (prices depend)
1. Its black...deal with it

(Cheap)
2. Have our skin manufacturer (12inchskinz) make skins for them to match blue casings (or current color skins, ie white) (Mid Range )
3. Get some painted the same color as the MPC for those that want to spend a bit more cash but get the best overall look (More Expensive)The screen itself comes with a plastic cover for protection during installation."
gloss plastic is cheaper than matt plastic. And the screen part itself came with a protective cover during installation (page 32 mpctutors photo).
2. This happens will ALL lcds. It is down to the LCD not them. The majority of screens sit further back behind a plastic window so you do not notice, but take a look at a stock screen closely (again page 32) and you will see what I'm talking about. A quick glance around my studio and its the same on my waldorf blofeld and access virus.
3. an extra process that would add to the cost of manufacture, for something that ultimately is not needed. There is currently no silk screening, which should save a few $ per unit
4. I expect most people will find a place to mount it rather than leaving it dangle. and again, adding tape adds cost to manufacturing and it adds bulk to the cable for people who will mount it.
5. I cant find the post any more, but this was basically explained too. there is nowhere for the knob to sit on the new housing that doesnt look shit while still allowing tilting
