Sick, I see a lot of kool stuff in this picture. Can you name some of this gear ? (my eyes are all over that multi-track looking thing in the bottom shelf)
I see a tape machine too! hows the sound on that model? Ive been thinking of grabbing one myself. Can you shed some light on what exactly I should be looking for, what it comes to a Tape machine?
Thanks man, that is cool to hear
The multitrack mixer is a Akai mg614, I really really love the way it sounds(warm and with some overdrive nice, fudgy and crunchy) ,
the tape compression( on the akaimg614) is also very nice and another cool thing is the EQ on the mixer.. they work really well!
The tape machine is not a special studio recorder I guess( Akai 4000DS), I got it from my grand pa, because he knew I wanted 1 for a long time, just to experiment with. When I got it I filled a whole bunch of tapes with a shitload of drumloops, so what I now usually do is take my drums from there, and sometimes when the song is almost finished, I will record it through the tape recorder and mix that track in the original cause it gives a lil extra uh... depth? in the music.
For the rest of the gear;
Yamaha Su700, A nice beatmachine that is underrated.
Mpc500, not my favorite thing anymore since I have the su700!
Electribe EA1, I like it .. fat basses and I like to midi out it to my SU700 for the clock.
And I also love the Alesis Philtre LFO, its kinda wicked what you can do with such a lil box.. also great for guitar styles like Cypress hill- Looking through the eye of the pig
Hope I helped you !
