So for example, Kick and Snare. Set both pads to outs 1+2. Pan the Kick hard left (out 1) and the Snare hard right (out 2). Create two mono tracks in DAW. Set one to Rens Out 1 and the other to Rens Out 2. Track.
Pro Tools will let you choose only one channel of a stereo out if you want. So I'm not really concerned with Rens lack of mono. Just the amount of outs.
There is a limitation to that...unless I am missing something.
Even if you use panning inside the Ren to send a Kick out 'virtual' output 1 and a Snare out 'virtual' output 2, Logic only recognizes the MPC Ren VST as stereo. Logic will send both channels to a stereo aux. The aux can then be routed to a mono track. I don't see anyway to record two mono tracks for the Kick and Snare in this situation without multiple passes.
Hmmm! Not sure. I never used Logic. Try it in Pro Tools. Bring Ren in on an Instrument Track. Create two mono audio tracks. Set the audio tracks' input to "Plugin -> Channel 1" for the first one and "Plugin -> Channel 2" for the second one. No need for any Aux tracks. Let me know if that works!
Also, in Logic, even if you pan them hard left and right in the MPC, you can still just record them both on the same audio track in Logic, and just split the audio track to two mono tracks after. Just set the audio tracks' pans in Logic to the center so you hear both drums out of both speakers (audio track pans are post record). In theory, this should work as a work around if Logic won't allow you to record Rens stereo outs to mono tracks.
EDIT: NVM. Forgot there's no RTAS support! Scratch the Pro Tools idea!

Unless you have the VST-RTAS wrapper.
