The inquiry continues!

I'm looking to play live. And I have no plucking clue how I should go about doing so.
What I'm wondering is how I can possibly change sequences while changing the corresponding programs.
For example:
Program "Sounds 1" on DRUM 1: "Song 1"
Seq# 1: "Song Seq 1" (made from the sounds on Program "Sounds 1")
Program "Sounds 2" on DRUM 2: "Song 2"
Seq# 2: "Song Seq 2" (made from the sounds on Program "Sounds 2")
Does this make sense? (This question usually results in a loud "no")
When I try simply assigning DRUM with desired programs onto Sequences that should match with the program, only certain sounds come through, while it plays samples from other programs. So the drums and bass from Program #2 will be playing but instead of the flute loop I laid down from sounds in Program #2, some samples from another program are being played. Whaaaa?!!?!?
