SF and Bitwig are the 2 programs (apps) that I am purchasing next depending on how the trial versions are to my liking. Hopefully the SF Mac version will have the same layout/feel as the PC version that I have been used to.
Unlike anyone who's used to MS Office PC version vs the Mac version... weird layout. :?

Well, for what it's worth, I personally don't feel it comes close to the Windows version. It may as well be called Sound Forge LE for Mac. If you get your hands on the demo and are remotely familiar with the Windows version, my reasons for saying this will become immediately obvious. It isn't bad per se but isn't nearly as robust as it's Windows lineage. For the price of admission when held up against the feature list, it wouldn't be my choice for a Mac editor.

I will mention this though, since it's a big one. One major wart — and believe me, I looked for it — is the complete omission of batch processing facilities. What dipshit at Sony decided that that was a good idea?

As always though, if you can find a way, try it out yourselves.

Exactly. The first thing I checked for was the batch processor with intent on utilizing the iZotope dither and SRC in a more integrated environment, instead of in disparate processes. The metering is grossly simplified also. It's not bad and not really expensive but for the asking price there are many other options that do just as much or more for like $79/£50.

Well, that SUCKS! Hopefully enough people complain about it and Sony has an update to improve SF to the same standards as the Windows version.

hey undertow, does it still have the key commands R when its highlighted to drop two orange region markers on either side of the highlighted area?

and does it still have the M key command to drop a regular marker?

and finally, do the ; and ' buttons still double and halve the region size?

i was mostly using soundforge audio studio so it didnt have batch export (this is what your talking about for batch processing right?), that sucks it wont work on older mac os though.
