I was wondering what lies beneath the surface, and to what extent it is user serviceable/ upgradeable.

Is the warranty void if you open it up and take some pics?

I tore mine apart but didn't take no pictures..... :(

I'm not a fan of the pads, they are much bulkier than the originals and even the FAT pads

Dan said a while back that technically opening it up voids the warranty.

yeah. I wonder if they've set up a way to know if its been opened or not.

For me, it doesn't matter, because of the outside/extended warranty I got from Guitar Center. I can open it up, and still replace it if I need to do so.

Not practical but it would be crazy if you could stick a powerful mini pc in there with it setup to boot straight to the Ren software. Mod a hdmi hook up from the the built in one on the mini PC to the back of the Ren for when you feel like connecting to a big screen. :oops: Solid State Renny
