For the most part, yes. Certain MPC's have this feature. You can also layer more than one sample and more than one keygroup, to add to your sound. Similar to taking a sample, copying it and changing the pitch as many times as you want. Your MPC probably has the 16 levels feature, which is the same concept.

ChrisPerrin just means that you are allowed to use your sampler as a synth. e.g. by looping a sample and spreading it across your keyboard or by simply using an INST program in JJOS, etc, etc.

I always play my samples.. It's a given to me. As long as you are manipulating the given sample there should be no rules. Just don't use outside samples or instruments.

It's so easy to get bass or pads from any sample. You can loop a tiny waveform from the sample if you want. Problem is that then it starts to sound nothing like the original sample.

When you say someones tune is just sh*t your looking like a child yourself, why not try explaining your point of view so that the beatmaker can benefit from it, I listened to his beat and it's well mixed, it has a lovely flow, and sounds like a soundtrack for an animation where spaceships are landing, levels are good the finish is clear, and it's abstract in it's own right, is this what you mean, it's too much for you so you call it sh*t. Hiphop has changed we are all chilled on here and have a laugh, coming in with some G troll attitude is not going to get you anywhere, maybe change the way you comment and the responses might be better.

that was mean as hell though man..i liked dudes beat, i thought it was dope, i really liked the off drums and his use of 2 of samples.. to tell him his beat was a piece of shit was just mean, u coulda just said u didnt like it, or it wasnt ur style, but to come at him all harsh is kinda wack., what if he had said something harsh about a track you had worked hard on and liked?? i thought it sounded alot better then SHIT..
