Check all the features? Asked why the drop in price? Sometime dealers will drop the price because it is simply not selling or moving off their shelf, but, other times it's because the unit might have issues. Hopefully, that is not the case with yours.
Nice score if everything is 100%!!
After months of being on the shelf, they decided to sell it for the money they put into it. I don't know too many people that are going into the pawn shop to spend $840 dollars. I tested the unit out and there are no issues. I just sold my MPC 1000, Zoom
Sampletrak, and Tascam 8 track recorder to recoup my money. I posted my first video of the 5000 here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaRylTEpzec
If the 5000 is such ****, why are they still selling for so much? I just think people fell into that whole just blaze 5000 rampage and since then, people think there are problems with it.
Man, that is a great find! Gotta love pawn shops:)Even though it may have a few small bugs, there are usually easy work arounds. That price is less than Maschine,MPC Studio, etc. and they certainly are not bug free and require a computer which introduces a whole new host (pun intended) of complications.Would I buy a 5000 for $1,000?No, but at $500 or less I would jump on it without hesitation provided it is in decent condition.
American Musical still has this scratch and dent 5000 for over $1600:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Akai-Profes ... 1389578.gcI just picked up a used MPC 500 for $250. I love it, but if I see his big brother for $500 or less he will no longer be an only child. lol
