Managers/mangement companies....

yeah i would like to find this too. Im interested in a manager to handle my music and set up DJ gigs. I want to hit a broader scene then where im at now.

yeah, i dunno if it would be safe to send a beat cd straight to a camp w/o a go between (and i did just that last week).

another thing im tripping of is sampling, my new beats are hot - but theyre loops (def digging status - not known loops) maybe flipped 3 ways at most, im wondering if a manger would stray from you if you came at em with all these samples.

I would do grassroots and hire someone I know who is dedicated to work for me/with/without money and let them scout you out and get you work. But no manager, I mean NO manager is not going to take up someone who is not proven and have a record. SHARKS and unexperienced people will be glad to, but your career won't go anywhere. Dove, how did that LA project turn out? Are you getting spins of those records? If you are, are the spins being tracked? You could have spinlists and tracklists and easily find a manager with data to show you are HOTTT...

BTW managers don't get paid, unless you get paid. That's why there is a huge risk and their dedication must be for you. lastly, and I will shut up, you don't want a management company with a "lot of artists" how much attention do you think you will get? You need someone who is going to be there for thick or thin and during the lowest get you "that work".

Bboutit is right, unless you have a track record, you won't get a good manager. The lawyer that represents our company is very established and is also a manger for some noteable artists. Basically, unless you have a buzz around your name, he's not gonna take you on.

Dove, you from the Bay right? What local acts have you worked with? You down with the whole Bay scene, or are you trying to avoid it?

I think a lawyer who is outgoing is

On that sample thing, you should have
both types of tracks on your reel.
I know companies who shy away from samples,
but they jump if it's undeniably hot.
