Logic Stem Bounce Issue

Ever since the update to 1.3 the plugin mode does not bounce the tracks as individual files. thats a serious break for an update now the Ren and Logic do not play together well.

I can submit a bug report if one hasn't been sent already. Actually, it never occurred to be to export while using the Ren plugin. Have you tried doing it in standalone mode?

As it stands it doesn't bounce within logic, and export is disabled while its running in logic so I have to quit out of logic and bounce stems from the standalone. Just really dissapointing because it would be the best workflow of all time otherwise. Don't understand because bounce in place in logic worked fine before the upgrade. What changed?

Yeah if it could bounce within logic there would be no need. At the moment logic's internal 'bounce in place' doesnt recognise the plugin and just seems to output silence, and the plugin itself wont let you bounce from within the DAW. Not sure what happened. I was just using bounce in place hoping they would let you export from within logic next upgrade. Now I have to fully quit out of logic to bounce stems, reopen standalone, bounce, quit that and then reload logic and import. Seems a bit mad.

Also still have to use IAC to use MPC as a controller and then only the pads work not the q-links etc. You would think they would fix this. Ren should be the best thing out and completely kill the controller market but for some reason it seems like they don't want it to work as a controller?

I'm having to use a seperate controller with it which im pretty sure I wouldnt have to if they just fixed the midi to DAW mode....

I'm having the same issues. Only way I can get the Ren to bounce from Logic, is to switch the bounce options to Realtime mode. Offline just bounces silence from the Ren/Plugin. And yes their is midi datat on the Ren track.

Really annoying as Offline is so much faster.

Have you tried routing the Ren's Track outputs to aux channels of your DAW and then bounce the Aux tracks? *Doesn't appear to be possible.

Have you guys tried Maschine doing the same? If so, how does it perform?

Can someone post a video and give a step by step on what you are doing in Logic with the Ren to include what isn't happening and what you expect? I'll will try to reproduce it on my end and send to developers immediately as needed.

I am more familiar with Pro Tools so I can actively investigating this issue now as I type this.

I just installed 1.2 in the Ren. I don't see anything that has changed in Pro Tools. The Ren can't export tracks when used as a plugin within a DAW.

In Pro Tools, I can bounce the an Instrument Track containing the Ren to another Track. Initially had issues. But when I remembered to set the bounce range (Sequencer Start/End point within Pro Tools), everything worked as expected.

In Logic, I can bounce the Instrument Track containing the Ren. It shows up in the media file list and then I have to drag-n-drop to a track or add to arrange as far as I can tell (again....not a Logic expert). I can't get Offline or Bounce in place to work though.

As far as bouncing multiple stems from the Ren's software to Logic...is there another product that does that? Can you walk me through how it is accomplished exactly?

No. Offline bounce stems normally only works for Instrument / Aux tracks when they have plug-ins loaded. Since no info (MIDI, Audio) is stored in the empty aux track, why should it be processed?

Aux tracks don't work that way. They only have sound going through, as there's some signal coming, which doesn't while just processing. Means: Realtime only.

I don't know of any DAW or sequencer that does that offline-ish. And I quite regularly work with a lot of them.
