DJ Hellfire wrote:[No it doesn't because those are not brand new products. Pro Tools has been around since 1991. And the UA plugins have been around for several years as well. It's a lot harder to turn an existing product built on 32-bit only architecture (RTAS) to 64 bit, than it is to write a brand new 64 Bit app from a clean slate! The MPC is a completely new software platform with no prior version compatibility to worry about.

UAD is a brand new product. It was released last year and only received 64 bit support this year....which is reportedly the same plan as the Ren.

It doesn't matter if Pro Tools is not a brand new product. Pro Tools is supposed to be the leading professional DAW and should be the leader in embracing new technologies. Computers have had 64 bit operating systems for several years now.

Im surprised no one already mention it, but we need something for editing program parameters for multiple pads at once.

Scenario:

i have a program with 64 slices assigned to 4 pad banks (from A to D) and i want edit the attack for all the pad, also i want use that nice mpc filter for cutting out some frequencies.

Now if i wanna do that i need to edit these parameters pad per pad...and i have to do it 64 times...man this take ages...

My solution is having in prog edit, under the master section, controls for a global filter, envelope and adsr.

Or at least some kind of shortcut, like pressing one pad+shift for editing all the pads.

cant do it from the hardware, but if you look at the mpc software while in pgm edit you can see right above the main volume knob thing (by the transport) is "edit zones". you can then choose current, multiple, or all

ouch! didnt see it...thanks man.

im on 13inch monitor and i prefer focusing on the controller, a selector on the hw would be nice!

Some type of MIDI out support for use with plugins like,CHORDSPACE PLAYA, TONESPACE 2.0, or HARMONY
IMPROVISATOR. Notice how FL studio has the FL wrapper
all you have to do is set your vst ( like harmony improvisator ) to one port and your vsti ( like nexus) to
the same port as the MIDI plugin ( harmony improvisator )
and you get the MIDI plugin ( harmony improvisator) playing chords using the vsti ( nexus ) sounds.

AKAI PLEASE IMPLEMENT THIS TYPE OF FUNCTION
IN 1.4.

Why just an appregiator which limits anyone who uses midi plugins - and there are many midi plugin appregiators out there, way better than what Akai would spend the time and resources coding. All they need to do is increase the midi functionality. It is called a Midi Production Studio after all.

My top requests so far:

1. Make tracks rearrangeable.

Why? Let me get you a brief example:
I start a beat by making kick, snare and hihat on tracks 1-3, then I record a bass on track 4 and some samples on tracks 5 & 6. Then, I add some toms on track 7. Afterwards I might play around with the bass (filters, envelopes, and plugins) on a different track, i.e. track 8. And then I might add some percussion on track 9.
Now I have my drums spread over tracks 1, 2, 3, 7 and 9, while my bass plays on tracks 4 and 8. Unfortunately, to put them in a logical order I need to redo the whole project, because I can't use a cluttered project like this when performing on stage.

2. Allow automatic program-to-track-naming.

See above: Right now I manually have to name each track accordingly. An option (like via right-Click) to automatically name the tracks by using it's program's name would come in handy.

3. Improved automation handling.

Sometimes it's hard to find automation data properly. Maybe automation "lanes" should be added to TRACK VIEW? Even handling automation is stupid - you can't just set the track to ignore the automation, and deleting / resetting automation can be a pain in the ...

4. Link Peak Reset in LCD and software.

Right now, when I press RESET PEAK on the hardware I still have to click the same button in the software, too.

5. Proper non-destructive chopping.

This has been discussed thoroughly and apparently needs no further explanation.

6. LCD wave zoom.

Also, discussed thoroughly.

7. ReWire.

I'd love to integrate the MPC as a ReWire slave into Reason itself - although this would require Reason 7 to be ablte to boot as ReWire host (instead of slave-only as in 6.5).

8. Inserts per pad AND per track

Also, 'nuff sed.

Just my two sends (muhaha).

01_ FOR ONCE, PLEASE, fix the Pad Bank change buttons MAJOR issues when playing live! Every second time, when playing live, pushing a Pad Bank button doesn't work! I push "A" while playing "B", and then it goes right back to "B"! Not good for live funger drumming! This completely f__ks the routines! MAJOR BUG! Still no fix for MONTHS now! No one listens!

02_ Making Tracks rearrangeable like on the 1K.

03_ Making Sequences rearrangeable.

04_ Including a "Bypass" button on each Plugin window.

05_ Being able to see the GUI of at least two Plugins at the same time. For example, Spectrum Analyzer + EQ.

06_ Adding a Delay like on the 1K.

07_ Making Track Mixer independent of Sequences.

08_ Fixing all the bugs of jumping/inaccurate numbers on the Plugins.

If these 3 things get addressed, the Ren will cement itself in my set-up.

1>Support for multi output VST instruments and not just a single master output. Exp; 16 outs of a VSTi routed to their own individual mixer channels for audio (not midi) like in almost every other DAW so that I can add plug-ins etc.

2>Sort out the mixer in general. Better, more accurate metering, bypass controls per insert, FX presets, routing to custom groups, FX on pads without submixing etc.

3>Better DAW integration. Some sort of drag & dropping of audio & midi to a DAW arrange page. Love this feature in Maschine. Also, somehow get the transport to work in full for the MPC plug-in from the hardware.

4>Explode midi tracks. Split drums recorded on one track to separate tracks. This will greatly help when exporting the tracks for mixdown.

5>Plug-In windows 'always on top' option. Damn, that's an easy one to do Akai! And let us access more than one Plug-in window at a time!
