thatd be really too few. I guess trying to cram a beat in the 1200's 10.3 secs can be also a fun part of the game.. but less than it?
I have a non expanded 950 and when i work with it i have to trim carefully, and building a drum track track with bass in it, being minimal and cautious, still eats up 2 if not 3 secs. Thatd leave me 2 secs for other samples on a turbo, hypotetically.. which again, it's too few. turbo's should be used to create the drum track alone and mix it with other sources... its nice challenge trying to use a 1200 as a standalone box but frankly i think that on a turbo this is practically impossibile.
so yea basically **** turbos
if you can get 2 turbos for cheaper than a SP1200 then i see no need for hate... dope beats have been made with less. the SP's aren't only samplers, they're also great MIDI sequencers... or also easy to be controlled by MIDI with any MPC. the SP12 Turbo even has features that the SP1200 doesn't... like keeping your samples in memory when shutting the machine off and back on later. it honestly just sounds like you're coming up with reasons to hate [fueled by your frustration of not being able to afford one yet]. both are amazing machines. just keep hunting and you'll find a good deal. someone on this forum recently got a sp12 turbo in great shape for $200... so keep an eye out.
