SOLVED: Sequencing w/ the Ren using a Motif ES8 as the cont

Setup:
Motif setup via USB in Utilities w/ LOCAL set to off
In Motif Song Mixer I have CH1 set to say a piano

On REN I have a new track setup using MIDI, sending CH1.
No matter which port I try (and I've tried ALL RENs and ALL Motifs ports) can I get the Motif to sound.

I've used a MPC 4000, Logic, and Protools with my Motif as a controller/sound module without any problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I get nothing. Motif set to Local Off, and its interface set to USB. Go to the Song Mixer window where you assign instruments and channels and I get nothing.

If I load a plugin like The Bank I CAN control it with the Motif so the MPC is getting the input. Just not sending back to the Motif when using a MIDI track.

Any other ideas?

If that is the case, then there are only a few options to double check:
1. MPC MIDI Preferences should display the Motif in the MPC MIDI Out Port A-D
CORRECT
2. Your MPC Track should be set to MIDI with the appropriate Port selected
CORRECT
3. Try triggering the pads using all 8 pad banks
NOTHING ON ALL 8 BANKS

If this is set up right, your Motif should work just fine.

If not, then there is a setting in the Motif that is causing an issue. Perhaps there is a MIDI setting that is disabled. Have you tried connecting another MIDI controller to your Motif to see if it will trigger the Motif sounds?
Ive got many other keyboards BUT nothing that has a USB interface like the Motif. Perhaps Ill try reloading the driver

If all else fails, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Ren's MIDI drivers.
