Also pgm to midi like the maschine has would be great as you still have a sequencer in a sequencer and the other day I wanted to record my pgm to abletons track and not the mpc but couldn't perform this using the mpc pads I found I could using a keyboard going thru it and could draw them in piano roll but could not just perform on my pads and have it record straight to ableton

If possible just be straight with everybody, does Akai not want of make a separate editor app/mode switch? That's all NI did, nothing overly complex or hard to code. They just reacted to user want and addressed it in the simplest yet most versatile way possible.
For every post in this thread, I have moved beyond 'Add a Controller Mode to the Ren'. We already agreed for Pete's sake. (big pun intended)

I have been talking specific implementation of such a function among other things using the Ren/MPC Software. I don't believe I can say it any clearer.
What I am discussing now is a direct response to what AyePee wrote earlier as shown above. He would like to see a Program to MIDI function like Maschine. I did what he did with the Ren. I inserted it on a DAW instrument track and armed the track to record. But what I played on the Ren's pads were not recorded into the DAW. I think it should but not like Maschine. I would prefer:
1. When using the MPC plugin, I want to be able to record MIDI into a DAW using the Ren's pads. This isn't possible in 1.4 unless you use a MIDI Track. Hardware MPCs can send MIDI regardless of Track Type. Maschine uses the Program to MIDI which I don't find intuitive. I don't find any function that you must access it via a mouse intuitive.
2. I want to be able to use multiple instances of the MPC plugin and sequence entirely within a DAW. As written above, I want to use the Ren's pads to record directly to a DAW instrument track.
Are there any videos available that show Maschine being used a DAW controller but also controlling plugin instruments within that DAW? So can you load 16 instruments within Live and use Maschine controller to control any of the 16 instruments on the fly as well as other params within that DAW?
