Hey guys hate to burst the bubble but big hardware mixers like that mackie can have a very real difference on the way the sounds/channels gel with each other.

Mackie mixers especially have a very good rep in the electronic music scene. They have lots of headroom and a really good eq and compression.

Sure you can get the same sound from running you multiout soundcard to the mackie vs using hardware!

Liam howlett from 'the prodigy' used mackie mixers for 'the jilted generation' and then sold them when he made a ton of cash and bought a super expensive console. He spend ages working on his new console trying to get his sound back and ended up selling his big desk and buying two old mackie desks and all was good!

To this day the prodigy still use $300 mackie mixers for their live gigs.

Liam actually said the prodigy sound owes a lot to mackie and Akai. Liam used Akai samplers and mackie mixers. Everyone knows how raw the prodigy sound is :D

Unfortunately you cant explain that to everyone... in this specific thread..those who bought the ren.. because they spent there hard earned money it MUST be equal. :WTF:

Every v6 engine in every 6 cylinder car will produce the same exact results... :hmmm:

These are the same people the say. Reason, FL studio, Logic, Pro tools ALL sound the same. but that is an even larger debate..wont even entertain..but some dummy will come along and quote me and try to say otherwise.. disclaimer..wont respond hahhaah...

But im done with this argument .

Back on topic.. Cant wait to see the price keep dropping on this great ren..thats only been out for a year or so. I really hope they give a discount to ren owners on there next release. I seriously do.

I did not buy a Renaissance.

It is not equal, it is better.

You are comparing it to a Mackie 8 bus mixer, which is nothing special.

The guy in the video you posted likes it because he can modify EQ by turning a physical knob...wow....you can do that with plugins as well. His point was not about mixing on the Mackie sounding better than mixing in a DAW, it was specifically about the Mackie EQ and being about to turn the EQ knobs to modify the sound of each sound.

Again, the Mackie EQ is nothing special, you can get better sounding EQ from plugins, and you can map them to a control surface for physical control.

I don't see anyone saying anything that resembles that.

I don't say they all sound the same, they sound different to each other, the way they mix sounds is different, the equations used to combine sounds are different to each other, it makes the sound different.

No idea why they would give a discount to Renaissance owners, that is some dumb shit, like your belief that hardware sounds better than software, just because it is hardware.

Please do read back through this thread, and quote exactly where anyone is saying anything resembling this.

You are making this shit up in your head as part of your flawed hardware is better than software argument.

Who are you talking about then?...

Who is saying these things about the Renaissance being equal to a Mackie, in this specific thread, and where are they saying it?

You are making this shit up.

You are the one that posted that retarded video that was supposed to prove that hardware is better than software, into a Renaissance price thread.

Soooooo, we only have 2 weeks to see how this black Friday turns out with sales and such....

I imagine various stores will have the mail and catalog coupons for an array of products, including those from AKAI, NI, Roland, etc...

I just hope those looking for Ren or otherwise can cop a deal
By mpc60III Fri Nov 15, 2013 8:05 pm
If they continue to update the software. I think Black Friday you can get a ren anywhere between $499.00-$600.00 a studio for about $199.00 maybe

If they plan to dump it all together...then who knows.

I just cant see myself paying a few hundred dollars for ANYTHING that doesnt function well. The software is to buggy for me...even when they fix it..Im only paying $300 for it.. if not..i'll wait for the next wave...def not riding this one without a major software improvement. We'll see.
