o.k i just tried to save a quick project onto sandisk 64mb cf card, i used drum break one in pad a1 and drum break 2 in pad a2.
record a 2 bar step for each one in seperate tracks.tracks 1 and 2.
went to save screen opened up root folder created new folder named it.then opened it.then saved All sequences and songs, then save All programs and sounds.
no problems at all it worked like a dweem. loaded up again light greased lightning

.so the integral cf card is a no no.i hope this helps as the idea is to get making music and having fun.
And if I manage to copy all my floppies to the CF, could there be any issue due to beats made with os 1.14 and loading them with os 1.2?
im not sure i am quite new to the mpc 2000xl so am just going through steps to get going as it is my first mpc.and im glad i have one it's just the way my mind works.pc's no more for me,well for making music anyway.and thats a good thing for me imho.
good luck and peace.unless your bangin on't drums.

edit to add:i have had success with a 16 gig transcend cf card, although the m.p.c 2000 x.l only see's just over 1 gig of space.no read or write problems loading saving, etc.so a thumbs up for the transcend cf card from me.
