So no information available to Akai users about issues with the latest Apple OS, even though Akai know about the issues, even though their support staff have been dealing with irate MPC Software/Mavericks users, even though there is a knowledge base on the Akai website, no mention of the issues at all.
DJ Hellfire wrote:2. Avid's main reason for releasing that information was simply to tell you that Mavericks is not supported. Akai may very well still provide support for users on Mavericks, which is why they likely did not release any statements saying they will not support Mavericks users, the same as NI has not released anything mentioning Mavericks support.
Again, you think that the term 'support' means customer support.
The software does not support correct operation with the OS, the software does not support it, nothing to do with Akai providing customer support.
DJ Hellfire wrote:You have to also remember that Avid is a much bigger company and many studios rely on Pro Tools and Media Composer to operate. I don't think there is a studio in the world that relies on an MPC to run. So one kind of expects Avid to be very prompt with information and support.
I don't think an MPC user really cares whether a studio relies on an MPC to run, or not, all they would care is if their own system relies on an MPC to run and it doesn't.
Some owners expect Akai to be very prompt with information, how long has Mavericks been out, how long have Akai known about the problem, when should they be expected to put up information about it?
I do not see how the smaller size of Akai is preventing them from putting this information on their website.
DJ Hellfire wrote:My point was that it took Avid quite a bit of time to provide support quickly as opposed to other major software makers.
They provided information as soon as Mavericks was released.
My point is nothing to do with MPC Software not supporting correct operation in Mavericks, with the Renaissance controller, it is all about Akai not providing this information to their customers on their website.
DJ Hellfire wrote:4. Again, their latest software release was before Mavericks released. I don't think they are obligated to mention anything about Mavericks until their next release. Any competent software user knows that if a new OS isn't mentioned in the specs then it is definitely being tested.
Of course they should mention it, they are selling a new product, they know the product will be used with new Macs that have Mavericks installed, how **** hard is it to put a knowledge base article, or other warning, up on their website?
Any competent human being knows this pretty poor treatment of their users.
DJ Hellfire wrote:5. I'm not "defending" anything. I'm simply stating that it is not uncommon for companies to be slow with supporting a new OS or mentioning support for it, as NI also still has yet to make mention of. Interesting how you only see this as me defending Akai, and not also defending NI!
Apple still hasn't even mentioned the WELL KNOWN battery drain issue that 10.9 has brought to MacBooks.
You are defending Akai in not putting any information about Mavericks support/compatibility on their website, you are saying that it is acceptable, you are using comparisons to other software companies and products...that is not defending anything?
This isn't about what NI do, it makes no difference, just because NI don't put up information about Mavericks, that does not excuse Akai from not doing so, NI is not the industry standard of customer service that every other company has to match.
To argue that Akai should not have to put up information about Mavericks not working properly with their software, is **** bizarre.

And that is typical you; thinking you are so far above everyone else.
There obviously is a debate, otherwise you wouldn't be debating.
