Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I read that you can use the slider on the sample edit screen and that it works better than moving the data wheel. Unfortunately like a lot of the used 2000xl's my slider doesn't work. I saw the replacement slider post on MPC stuff but i'm wondering if thats the only thing I need.

That and some soldering required

It's really simple. Just might take some time depending on the iron your using, and expeirence with using wick. But the old one, literally remove the solder with a wick, pull it off, slide the new one in, solder it on!

Large up.

Replaced mine 2 days ago, took me 25 min. There are a total of 8 connections to desolder, you remove the old component and solder the new one in.

I Replaced mine not so long ago. Was an easy fix if you are okay with basic desoldering/soldering.
I wouldn't recommend prying it apart like that, could cause all sorts of secondary problems.
