Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

If you expect the functionality of a newer MPC, such as the MPC4000, it is probably not going to cut it, and if you want the functionality of MPC Software, with VST plugin integration, forget it.

Is there any standalone "instrument" that can support VST-plugins?

ipads and iPods are cheaply made, there is no reason they should cost as much as they do, if they were only 100. i would say go for it, but they suck, they are held together with glue…**** iOS!! there are some very dope apps for them i have used them, but buying an expensive iPod touch and having it crap out right when the warranty was up especially hardly using it makes me say **** THAT!!

OH NO! I TRUST NOT! PLEASE DON´T!

I agree with Eyalc. The software keeps getting better and better. I think this is a great idea, though not a new one. I hope it is implemented correctly.

Apparently we have allot of drama queens on this forum....This new box in no way forces you to sell or upgrade your REN/Studio. They run the same F#K#N software. If you don't need a standalone system and you are always at the computer just keep what you have. Its the same thing. If you just want the shiny new toy, you take ya medicine and cough up the doe.

This is potentially unprecedented greatness and people are complaining...I have a Studio and I can do everything the person with the REN/RENXL can do. Could an MPC 2000 owner say that to an MPC4000 owner a decade ago?

(AKAIPETE)
...my Initial reaction to the possibility of touch screen was "F*K touch screen"...BUT if that can be a cartesian plane (x/y) live effects/parameter automation interface....I think I'll be captain of the touch screen boat. GO AHEAD AND MAKE THAT HAPPEN...

All devices are cheaply made. It's usually in the blueprint and R&D where the expensive coasts is at, at it's expense.

i guess the so-called "insider" provided nick batt with that pic.
the angle of the display reminds me of that of the xlcd screen of mpc stuff.
a steady screen would be bad.

i can´t believe that despite all the news #1 fanboy jah has nothing to talk about here. wtf?!

Same pic used in the keynote slide deck I helped build. That slide never made it up on to the projected screen, however.
