Don't know what the big fuss is about. MPC REN and Maschine are two different beast. The MPC REN can make music just as good as the Maschine right now. The only advantage the Maschine has is it the sound sets included with the system. With the MPC you're pretty much on your own to fabricate the best sounds possible. If you ask me "Fabricating Your Own Sounds" and "Tweaking" them to oblivion is what puts the MPC REN on top of the Maschine everyday and all day. It separates the new possibilities with sounds from the clone sounds. MPC REN is for the tweakheads. Maschine is for the button mashers.
Don't get me wrong because I like the Maschine concept and I'm not jealous about not having one... I could of brought 5 Maschine Studios, but I decided to keep my REN and buy a Korg Kronos X61. I have faith on the MPC cause its ready now, but some more features will be appreciated.
