If I for instance press overdub (rec) and start I'll start recording. Then I press overdub and the sequence goes on. If I now choose a next sequence I get the help screen.
For OVERDUB or RECORD.
The MPC3000 must be in Record Ready mode. (The top line of the MAIN screen must display the words "Play/Record (Record ready)" )
If not, then press and release the RECORD or OVERDUB key once with the sequencer in a stopped state.
For OVERDUB mode.
While the sequence is playing, simultaneously press the OVERDUB and PLAY keys. Overdub mode is now active, indicated by the light above the OVERDUB key.
For RECORD mode.
While the sequence is playing, simultaneously press the RECORD and PLAY keys. Record mode is now active, as indicated by the light above the RECORD key.
To punch-out of OVERDUB or RECORD mode with the sequence running, hold down the PLAY key and press once either the OVERDUB or RECORD key depending on which of these modes your were in. ( PLAY key depression in this instance not normally required ... )
Is this what you mean ?
Regardless I am looking at the section of code that is responsible for the "help message" we are talking about.
If you can drop in and out of record mode with the sequence running then also ... you should be able to switch sequence regardless of which state the sequence was opened in ...
More soon.
