Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Nooooo, not stupid, just a learning experience :lol: 512 entries in ROOT. In folders I don't
know of a limit, BUT, among those 2000 I'm betting that one or several of those files are corrupt.
I've had problems on 2kxl when attempting to load corrupt samples. I'd open the sample in Sound Forge (love SF), re-save it as PCM WAV 44khz, 16 bit.

After that happened to me a few times I started using the batch converter in Sound Forge on whole folders of samples prior to loading in 2kxl.

batch script was...

Sharp cut off silence at beginning and quick fade cut off end of samples below a certain vol level.
Remove inaudible frequencies (even though you can't hear something gear can still detect it and will use
headroom to re-create the inaudible sound).
Convert to 44/16
Normalize

I did that for YEARS. NEVER had a problem after that.
