carry on anyway.....i'm just me, but I think you are bonkers......
what's wrong with that, how many times I've walked into thrift store and bought a whole damn box of wax, some of which i kept and what didnt need i gave away
mpc ren is not mpc 60 where you limited to few seconds of sample time and 2 banks of sounds, why limit yourself when dont have to, there's no rule saying you stay the old school way, times are changing, get with the times

if everybody dressed the same, looked the same, spoke the same, smelled the same how boring this world would be
one of the more frequent brought up subjects about mpc ren is not being standalone machine. personally since I started making beats 10 years ago one of the biggest gripes for me was poor integration of hardware music gear with computer...setting up, tweaking settings, tracking out etc the list goes on, so much time wasted on unnecessary things....it's a pleasure to be able to sit in front of 16 pads and start doing whatever the hell you wish. and to top it if off as more features is added and bugs ironed out, do it how you want it instead of what you needing to be doing imposed by some limitation.
by the way shout out to Cardiff, I'm there once every couple of years or so
