You
can jump around by clicking on the bar field and then using the jog wheel, but it is not comparable to using the dedicated keys, which make it way faster. I hate going having to go into the bar field every time I want to do it (you can click on the spot you want to jump to on software, too, but hey, that defeats the point of having a controller).
A modern day example: you could compare this to having to go to the settings page of your cell phone to adjust its volume instead of using its dedicated keys, which are always there and make it super quick.
Let's say you have 16 bars. You want to quickly hop to the beginning of bar 15 to record a ghost kick.
It's three clicks: >>, <, <. That takes around a second when it's in your muscle memory. While doable, it takes way longer using the touch screen. Small things like these pile up when you use it a lot; not a biggie for a casual user.
