E.g., I run a one-man mixing and mastering company, doing m&m every day. It's of the utmost importance to me to keep my clients updated and maintain open communication. I can't afford to say "I'll send your album on Tuesday" and then be all quiet till Friday, if I need more time; in that case I'd sure as heck inform my client of the delay on Monday night or Tuesday noon and say I'm sorry. Everyone can take that. But if you say nothing and let people wait, they'll go elsewhere, you can be sure of that. There's always a competitor or a few that people can run to.
I.e., don't rely on people's patience too long if you give them nothing while they're waiting on you.
To me, that's like a red cloth to a bull, and I always drop those people out of my life (gotta say that during my music career, I've worked with way too many people like that and I just can't take it, as it always makes me feel I'm not respected, and with those people, I won't work with).

u speaking common sense however we did not directly pay akai to deliver a project in a specific timeframe as per the case u gave with ur clients.

we brought a product and when and if they update it is down to them; also NI left maschine users hanging for 2 years while they proceeded to flog them sample pack after sample back, and drip feed them the most menial updates.

so this is not a Japanese thing this is most of the companies in general; they are not responsive, and its good we have social media so we can get at them publicly.

Yeah, my example isn't fitting 1:1 of course and I realize that.
I guess how I feel is that some people probably bought a Touch/Ren pretty soon after the NAMM show and they probably feel a bit salty at this point.

That´s why they´ve said it would be coming soon in the first place...to help sales with those "MPCs"...

It was intentional...same as with their story of hardware-based MPC 3000 sound on the Ren... :Sigh:

They´ve taken their customers for ideots for way too long!

This is why I say that I don't mind that dude's rant too much. The delivery wasn't great, but Akai has had some integrity-level questionable decisions take place that damage the brand much more than help it.

The gap to the next competitor isn't big enough to make these kind of missteps (unfinished products, falsifying capabilities). Sooner or later your integrity outweighs your product value. If Akai's not there yet, they're not far from it. That's just basic marketing and business 101.

Their continual use of the term "iconic" shows that they don't respect these basic business principles. The MPC isn't iconic anymore, and hasn't been since Numark took over. Yet they believe that the use of this term facilitates their competitive advantage.

Again, all that being said, aside from Logic, MPCs are the best composition tool for me, so I'll continue to invest in their products. For me, their missteps haven't outweighed the value I get from their products. If it does one day, I'll quietly move on.

All I can say is if what I have been told is true, karma is real.

When this person told me about certain events, I just shut up. After I watched a portion of that video, the first thing I thought about was karma.

Even though this person is a friend, I still know the three story rule. This has nothing to do with the law, just karma.

@dustymaestro you have to admit, your post was pretty pointless. So you know something but can't say what you know. That's just awesome dude !

My point is karma, if somebody runs game and they get the same thing back. Thats all you need to know, but I know people like gossip and not the message.

I would have erased it yesterday, but I am only visiting here and have limited access to the internet.

You would rather here about the message or who did what?

If you look back at it I was answering a question to the post above it.

Awesome dude? Yeah, were def on different pages.

It's one thing to not get it, but what are you asking me, to dry snitch? Wait, some of you guys expect companies to tell there business strategies.

I think generally people prefer to have some sort of story so that they can interpret the message themselves......otherwise the message is just your opinion....

I'm not bothered either way, but your post was a bit like waking someone up to tell them to go to sleep....
