i think it's the least Akai could do for customers. I saw a tweet from Akai saying that anyone who tried to DL their products when the website was down over xmas/new year can get $100 worth of plugins for the inconvenience. unless I was tripping!

Now I'm not getting fooled 3 times!

This just made my PTSD flare up!!!

Flat out, If Akai would be silly enough.... after all of the bitching and moaning from their target demographic, would create all this hype to NOT capitalize and make the The MPC "Legacy, X, Eclipse....whatever" not be standalone in some way, they deserve all of the ridicule coming their way.

It should at least function as a better form-factor MPC 4000 in standalone. That enough is good for me! It's obvious that the "Live" should be capable on paper. Are they building a flagship or nah....?

But this IS AKAI we are talking about....

All the signs point to 2.0's eminence coming VERY soon. The hardware on the other hand, will most likely be prototypes on the NAMM floor with a "late-2017" release date. (We ALL know what that means... :Sigh: )

We just gotta keep it in our pants for another week or two. AKAI better not screw this up.

Akai MPC is "Spiderman the Movie" to me rite now. After 3 movies, A weak Rhino feature(I mean what if the Juggernaut was a cyborg?) I realize how I was fooled by the new CGI and wasted supervillain roles.
They need a WHOLE 2 hour movie with Peter Parker sittin comfy in that black Spiderman symbiote suit - not fighting it.
Akai need a WHOLE 2.0 update movie like the old Digidesign PT7 DVDs showing an Ableton Live featured software on top of a MPCX with NO BUGS.

software ladies n gents.......MPC software v2.0(heart) not hardware(Hollywood)

They better not mess this up THIS TIME.

What makes you think that its for the touch screen..?? It has audio tracks coming as well.. I'm sure the Ren And Studio can benefit from it as well. Probably won't be free tho..

According to what Dan said last year, MPC Software 2.x is all about warping, real time stretching, improved browser, audio tracks, phrase/clip programs etc, there's been no mention of it having a touch-screen specific slant. I'm sure these features will work fine in the non-touchscreen controllers. TBH I don't think the Studio Black is going anywhere, it's perfect as the entry-level MPC Software controller.

I thought Dan said last year that all Studio black functionality would be capable with MPC 2.0- it is not obsolete it just doesn't have touch screen functions.

100% functionality will be through the software anyway- the promised 128 audio tracks, time stretch, improved browser, VST effects, etc will all likely be easier to use simply using the mouse and keyboard sad to say. The hardware will be quicker probably for simple tasks- quickly sampling and editing, moving on and sampling again in quick succession. I can't see how stand-alone operation can support VST's anyway. PRobably not enough horsepower as the CPU is an ARM, not a new top of the line i7. Hopefully those new AIR effects have been ported over to use in stand-alone though.

Just got official confirmation from twitter that I was right live is coming out first,& it will be around February. So the only thing it seems left to confirm is like I said that 2.0 will come out at namm & live in feb, while x sometime later. We also need to confirm that x wont be shown at namm at least the hardware.

They're not going to release 2.0 until they release Live because it's a paid update. And if the X is only 6 months out they will def show it at Namm

Official, trustworthy, who knows.

Hes one of the few people to have seen live already.Im not saying he knows the date.im only saying it sounds like for sure its coming first.my source also comes from within the company he says 2.0 is done but their continueing fixing bugs as they will indefinitely anyways but that if they want to they can release at namm. The live is definitely going to be at namm and x is not ready from what im hearing.
