Well I am glad you're happy. You didn't upgrade to 1.9 yet?

Oh by the way that track is hot, that's some WuTang joint, man I can see Ghost Face, RaeKwon and Inspecta Deck all over that and killing that beat!!!

I kept meaning to draw a line in the sand and take the leap to 1.9 but I just never got round to it.....now I figure I may as well just sit tight and wait for 2.0........and still I'm a bit concerned that I might not like it...

Which track are you referring to?

The first track its a hiphop track

I bet they're gonna drop a video of 2.0 the moment the devices are out.

How would they do that when they have 8 outs on the X? Are you talking about the software?

The outputs could be assigned to the next (adaptive) channel strips. In bank A, B, C etc.

Hmm, not sure what the number of outputs have to do with the number of tracks available, or recording in stereo or mono. 8 outputs (really 6 with the main outs) is workable for sending to a mixer, which is what a lot of analog engineers will want, but I think having the option for a least mono or stereo tracks should be standard. I really feel that if the X would simply allow 16 audio tracks to mirror the 16 pads, mono or stereo, that the machine would appeal to a lot more people wanting to record and launch, or trigger loops. Essentially a 16 track looper. For me, not wanting to use a DAW, but could get by 16 audio tracks, would be an attractive product.

And I know there's the topic of "what an MPC" ... "IS" but 16 audio tracks in 2017 is hardly excessive, even in a stand alone machine. I had an Akai DPS24 15 years ago, you guessed it, 24 tracks. Lol.

I didnt know if the 8 stereo tracks were linked to the 8 outs or not. Now l see.

I just talked to my boy who has a Ren he said he has Akai DPS16 tucked away with a mpc2000 lm like wtf are you doing with that? lol
He said hes going to sell both along with the Ren to get the X. I told him that DSP12 is worth .25 cents lol

Yes, 8 outs can send 8 tracks. And if you had 16 tracks for a song you would have to track out 8 tracks at a time, meaning you will track out tracks 1 to 8 the first pass and 9 to 16 the second pass. No biggie, its been done since the days of the MPC3000.

My MPC500 only got 2 outs but got 48 tracks so I would resample it all into a 2 track stereo master to push them out all at once. There are guys that really do track out 2 at a time for all 48 tracks though. Each to their zone.
