:Sigh:

I dunno, because I couldn´t care less about touch screens and battery operation on hardware samplers.

I am glad my 8800 doesn´t have these gimmicks. And I am glad it actually works as expected unlike Nukai´s new pieces of junk.

Yeah l was but l been changed my mind on that. Don't get me wrong Jpeg the X is hot and looks sexy. But l had to sit down and think " do l really need that?".
I would pay 2,199 just to make drum patterns? Does that make sense to you? Remember the two most important things to me was:
1. Programming complex drums on the new MPC and being on the grid without dealing with latency or quantizing issues.
2. Being able to export my drums out individually so l could drop and drag them into Reason 9.5 (which dropped today :-). )

The X is to big has cv/gate which l wouldnt use, not portable in a sense.

With the live lm right at home. Its portable and its all what l need bro. It puts me back to when l had the 2000XL be in a futuristic moment. Frankly l love this machine. The 7 inch screen is a super imporvement to the screen on the 2000XL. Being very moble is the future. Some will have ipads or phones l will have the MPC with dedicated pads and a boss ass squencer. Decent editing and exporting. I am not trying to tap on a freakin ipad on virtual pads to make a beat.
Im right at home now.

How are you Chino? I hope you and the live are rocking out.

Im optimistic that the 2.0 will be good throughout the course of time. Im really not having any issues with it. The other issue lm having lm going to see if l can resolve today.

Yes sir! Don't might get it, do it! LOL
bro PreSonus put a Neve EQ, Pultec EQ, 1176 compressor/limiter, and LA-2A comp/limiter in the Fat Channel.

You can now record through your plugins from your interface with almost no latency like UAD plugins does
without having to buy any expensive DSP hardware like the Apollo etc. They made this dope. That means you can have the Neve 1073 plugin and record through it like it was hardware. They give it for FREE!

You also now have separate buffer settings. One for direct recording into S13, without latency, and the other buffer plays all the tracks without
any glitching. Dope!

There’s a ton more, these are just a few. There’s about 60 new additions. I love Studio One!

I have the whole Fabfilter bundle l am like so set. S1v3.5 native plugins is dope l don't need nothing else.
With the addtion of Reason 9.5 taking VSTS and having PDC lm in heaven. S1V3 having console one which is like having the SSL 4000 and VCA faders dude we are sitting in heaven. S1v3 has a different sound than Reason and l love them both. Ive always said at leadt have 2 DAWs on had and these are my choices.
I almost bought into the Slate touch screen. I was told get THE FADER PORT 8! Lmao.
F8 can rock not only S1v3 but the entire Reason interface. That right there seals the deal for me!

These are the last things lm getting.
1. Sound Iron Elysium Harps.
2. Spectrasonics Keyscape
3. Fader Port 8

I buy into sounds like refills for Reason and sounds for Omnisphere 2. I have over 100,000 sounds in Omnisphere. Its overkill but its a good overkill for me. Never can have to many sounds and they don't cost much.
So yeah do your thing you will be happy.

Ive stopped getting caught up in the new long ago. And just get what l need for my work flow and save money. :smoker:

Good point! Depending on how the final release of MPC 2.0 software/hardware OS pans out….. I just might end up upgrading my Studio One DAW to version 3.5 & adding the Faderport 8 - and call it a day.

Sometimes I get caught up in the 'new and flashy' products. I realize that I already have everything I need to make music. New products can be creatively inspirational but are more of a want than a need.

Ummmm nothing.
From where l sit and fealing with the MPC live nothing is touching. Unless someone can prove you and l wrong.
The pads are fat and lovely. Iits portable, dope functions, can connect a mic to it, plenty of HHD options, SD card slot.
Its like having a Drum machine/ DAW / Computer all in one.
If l was a newbie and got this with the 2.0 software and a few vsts this could hold me down without having a major DAW. Lets not even get into the X.
Only thing l miss on the Live is rewind and foward buttons on the transport.

yamaha's last sampler was the rs7000 way back; its good but no modern computer connectivity or sample storage options.

the korg electribe is a let down very bad sample management, very limited features and no computer connectivity.

all the things u mentioned are very archaic in design and implementation, and are not on same level interface wise or feature wise and u know it,

The head-camera is acting as a static dissipative ground, drawing the electrical charge from his hand. Hence, the unresponsive screen.

So let me ask you. My phone which is touch screen and runs off a battery until l recharge it. Is that a gimmick?

My Korg Trinity had touch screen in 2000 that's nothing new nor was it a gimmick.

I imagine the live can accept midi machine control, hence could be controlled by a korg xd16 multitracker, thereby giving the ability to use forward/backward buttons, that would be good, then I'd see no reason to step up to the MPC X. Yes touchscreens have been around for a while in korg machines. It works very well with the xd16, as it allows you to select parameters and then adjust with knobs, but the touchscreen is not a big focus, I suppose the live works in the similar manner?

My point about the touch screen was to show its not a gimmick.

Yeah thats a good idea with using a midi KB to use rewind and forward. I don't need it l can get to any section using the touch screen.

The Live's touch screen is way than a Korg Trinity.
