lol lm not going to threaten you lol
Yeah a drummer doesn't. When you're in the studio doing drums for a client they don't wanna hear that. Rock drummers and of that genre don't play like drum programmers. Im getting into swinging mote which 2.0.3 SW handles well.

My point was my drums were not hitting on the grid lines. To solve that problem l got the Live which l proved and learned how to use Reasons step sequencer which proved my situation on not going to buy an interface. Ifs what l daid didn't l would still be having that problem and lm not.

No one can say l complain about that anymore and lm happy! :-D

I watched this argument go down on gearslutz. Damn shame. You pretty much hit the nail on the head though. And is also something I do not understand one bit. As Danoc is 100% in the box and boasts on his Vst usage and I assume that's all he uses because of his past comments about it and being 100% in the box,. He certainly would not only benefit from the actual issues you pointed out but also from the D/A conversion when playing back the mix. Also in recording anyone if the opportunity arises with née conversion.. Unfortunately he seems to get defensive about it. Like hey Danoc it's all good man. Just trying to help you out but already see this going the way of gearslutz.. You keep talking about tape. Your talking to someone who actually has and still uses an Otari Mx 7800 1" 8 track to record. I know all about it. Also , try taking them drums off the grid . Just a lil bit. No one wants to see a beat go down with training wheels. ... that was just a joke, hopefully you don't threaten me on-the-line. But seriously, no drummer plays quantized. Trust in your human groove people.

Drop a grand and a half to buy an MPC X to get your drums to hit on the grid on stand alone piece of hardware to then make a video demonstrating how to quantize your drums in Reason. :Sigh:

Yeah clearly that resolved the "issue", which is partially true to your level of rationalization. You would be best suited to read the posts in this thread to give you a broader understanding why the technical merit of your reasoning falls short. Although it is almost certain you won't so hopefully someone else can learn something from what is written here.

Crazy isnt it? I mean I learned that an interface should be added to your setup when I first started producing music lol. This guy says hes been doing it for years, yet his music still sounds like everyone's first beat

I dont use a computer.

I have physical gear that is tracked through an analog mixer. The direct outs leave the mixer to the 56 input SSD recorder. That output is direct returned into the analog mixer. Finally, the mixed output from the analog mixer is recorded to DAT (or any other physical medium I choose).

In my setup, what would you call the "interface"?

Danoc keeps calling what normal people would call a "sound card" an "interface".

Your particular setup would only only "require" a sound card when it comes time to dump back in to your computer. Yeah, you could use the on board card but I sense someone that takes as much effort as you do for your over all mixing and recording path, would have enough common sense to want to use a proper recording "interface" to record to.

By the way, maybe something for you to consider in the future?: The RME UCX can record in stand alone mode, dumps straight to a USB Thumb Drive in an embedded wav format (basically 1 wav file with I think up to 36 tracks) that can then be opened up in most legitimate DAWS in full multitrack stem glory.

:WTF: :Sigh: first off l dont have the X l have the Live. You saw the vid and didnt see that? And in the vid l said Live. Smh

There are two vids to show l can be on the grid in the mpc live or Reason. At the end of the day we all drop our music in a DAW to be mixed.
:Sigh: you wouldn't know anything about because you're just a troll. Bye

They think everyone should or has an interface.

Nice set up. I remember Adat and dat machines. I had the Sony dat machine

I wouldn't know anything? That's interesting. I've given you the benefit of the doubt here. When you were being attacked, I took a neutral position and as honest as I could I went and explained where your technical understanding, or lack there of falls short. Clean and simple.

Rather than acknowledge it, and learn something - for some strange reason you persist being a ignorant to say the least. But I forgot - you supposedly know sh*t because you cut tape. Whether or not you have the X or Live does not change anything at all - THEY'RE BOTH FUNCTIONING AS (mediocre) INTERFACES ONCE CONNECTED TO A COMPUTER! - However your lack cognitive ability to process as such has been proven with your responses here.

There's been no trolling here - Just simple facts. But according to you, I wouldn't know anything about anything right.

I never said a sound card was an interface
Guess what my problem is solved.

So you can move on.

You said you don't need an "interface" People on GS told you that your latency issues would be resolved with getting an "interface" which is also known as a soundcard.

What the f*ck is an interface to you then?
By Cockdiesel Thu Aug 31, 2017 10:17 pm
I think the issue is semantics or what's he's equating the "interface" to the tracking out midi syncing to a daw he was complaining about before he was "good" with the live. I thought I mentioned this earlier but the response isn't showing up. Everything Richie is saying is true, but like me we are confused because we are using specific terminology. One mans interface is another's sound card, is another thingamajig...

Danoc you are right you don't need an interface to do what you did. I understand you may have had a hard time tracking out your drums, and adding your vst synths over top. You're good now, right? I get it, the issue bothered you Bc there was a stink as gs and you felt you needed to respond, and smack didn't like being mentioned by name.

This is a confusing mess and sometimes it's good to take a step back and understand communication is hard thing especially with a text/over the internet deal we got here. People are trying to help, but I think they are confused as well. No need for anyone to attack each other especially since most are trying to help. Now the people trolling are the ones who " joined" yesterday, but keep in mind you did call out a decent sized forum...

ok, stopped you right there. I don't use a computer at all, so now i am understanding the debate here.

yes if i needed to , say, upload a song to the cloud via computer, THEN i would need an interface, like my arturia audiofuse, which is indeed an interface.

I could use the computer sound card OR i could just use the X or LIVE since those are interfaces.

not trying to be disrespectful to anyone here--was just trying to understand the debate. :worthy:
