There's nothing free about giving up your time as an unpaid volunteer, so IMO only beta test if you get a kick out of the process (whatever that kick may be, e.g. enjoying the process of bug testing, helping shape the future of a product, having early access to upcoming gear etc).

What makes me always second guess it is that if you were beta-testing something like this for real, you couldn't talk about it on YT. I couldn't say that this is what I'm working on and this is where it is most likely because of some NDA. That's my rub. I GET it, but it owuld be downright painful to of had this in my possession for even 6 months before announcement, and not be able to show off or even discuss the roadmap, this isn't some incremental update to the Live/X, its a new machine with a new workflow and different objectives...despite being based off the same hardware as the Live/X, its still a big deal in concept.
Hmm, how do you even beta-test something like this from a DJ perspective? I know for cars they often have them wrapped in some weird paintjob/wrapping to hide what they are, but I'm sure durability and physical setup in a club atmosphere was one of the "check boxes" for this, butt you can't just take it to a random booth and setup, without expecting it to possibly leak. hmm.
