Hey I saw the video of Tubedigga on youtube about new Air fx 2.4
Filter gate is pure beauty and also Pitch Shifter sounds really powerful.
The Diffuse delay sounds like an interesting reverb truly.

I’ve been lurking in this thread for a while and have been having these thoughts. In general I’m a little bummed about 2.4. FX??? It’s okay. But I have enough in my workflow already. What I don’t have is sampling capabilities on par with the 4000. That’s what I really want. Until then, anything else for me is just meh. Glad people are happy about the coming effects though. But I’ve already invested in plugins in my workflow, that these coming in 2.4 are just nice to have - but certainly nowhere near “oh wow, I can do THIS now...”. When first hearing about 2.4 I thought - oh, might be pretty cool... but this is just me though - no way I’d ever add reverb or compression in the MPC when I mix in Logic Pro and I have access to much better FX (IMO). Nothing about 2.4 changes my creative capabilities or improves my workflow, so meh. But those producing completely in the MPC, I can see how this would be more interesting.

Anyway, just agreeing with the quoted post. Will return to my lurking in this topic.

What's so special about the MPC-4000 vs the MPC X?

:WTF: We already have "Stop tap twice" to place the play head to the beginning and kill audio. why do we need or want another step with Shift+Stop to kill audio? Makes no sense.

Pressing stop twice on the Live does not reset the play head to 1.

Pressing stop twice on the touch and studio on the software does not set the play head to 1.

On the mpc 1000 Jjos xl press stop multiple times resets the playhead to 1, not sure about the default Akai os.

I’m not sure where my 500 is.

So your saying your Live resets to one?

I’m trying to envision a scenario where I’d want to stop the play and return to zero, and not just stop the audio and hit play from start. I don’t see it. Help me out.

Don’t worry about, it’s shift stop that’s coming. Pressing stop will still kill the audio and nothing will change for you.

It’s a muscle memory thing for others, I’m used to pressing stop repeatedly out of habit. Some tascam protastudios and Roland vs stations behaved the same way. I rarely used play start until I got a Live. I’m used to it now, I wouldn’t use shift stop since I would have to think about pressing shift.

Since when does tapping stop twice reset the play head? It kills the audio no doubt.

The person using it.

I'm just curious as to what the MPC-4000 does that's any different than the MPC X? The user specifically opined that the 4000 has a better sampler. I want to know how and why he thinks that?

Why not? On the MPCX we already have Locate+Start buttons so it's no use to implement this for X users..

this is/was a great function to send MIDI panic all 'round your system
so this will be substituted by shift+stop?
