I think though, the sudden attention flip to 2.8 is more a reflection of the little value that 2.7 brought to the general MPC community (I'd like to think this forum represents the general community anyway). But yeah, you're definitely right, the "instant gratification syndrome" has something to do with it too.
Man I still haven't tried that AutoSample on the MPC. Used to use it a lot when it was auto sampler (Redmatica I think was the company name). Useful utility.
I see that, 2.7 may be of little value to the general community. For new buyer, it's a pretty nice deal, especially with the price of MPC Live and Akai Force at $1000 right now. This may push, the used market down to the $500 to $700 dollar range for them.
Sometimes I ask myself, what more could people really want and use inside these MPC's. How much, is too much? I don't need the instruments or the 8 tracks. I just want a tight/rock solid MIDI sequencer, a full fledged sampler, a nice array of effects, and more direct I/O's. The only thing I got was effects.
Along with being about render stems.
As you know, the more we use a machine the more optimize what we do with it. For me, it's always comes back to the most, direct work flow as possible, with a couple of work arounds. Hey, Redmatica was MAC only, right?
