This is me too, I was hoping to see more progress.
I do get what the One is about though, a take on the void that 500 filled back in the day
smaller, cheaper, budget friendly.

Yeah I agree that the One will fill that void. Hope they show some forward direction / progress soon. And not just a drum synth. If that newly designed Arrange from the Force video makes its way to the MPC Live / X, that'd be some forward progress. I use Song mode, but definitely not a fan of it.

That was the FIRST thing I noticed when I initially saw the pics. It was on back of the Live also.
I'd prefer it be up top on front like X, 2kxl, 4k, etc but it's not enough to stop/hinder progress.

Honestly I don't get the point of this discussion.
Mpc Live is technically better then One, it has more features. One just have buttons but Live has menu+pad.
So Live is better and that's it.
When I say better, I mean just read the specs of both and make a comparison.
What is this talking about Dylan and Apple watches?
Total no sense.
If they ask me "what do you think about One?", I reply "get a 2nd hand Live for the same price".
We are all Live or X users here, it's obvious we don't see this One as nothing new that could upgrade our way of making music.
One is not for us.
It's for people who want to try an Mpc and get the cheapest one.
My father used to say: if you want quality, you have to pay for it.
My father was a good man.

Haha - in the spirit of fairness, EnochLight didn't start the Apple Watch thought - that was me - just making a theoretical comparison. That part of his post was just commenting on mine.

Same. I do appreciate the sneak peek we got at Drum Synth, and it's nice to know both Drum Synth and Arranger is coming Q1, but I wish more had been clarified (like will the MPC's also get Arranger mode, and the long awaited disc streaming - when)?

Or, buy an MPC Live with a built-in battery, since - you know - it's a thing.
Many actually prefer the larger pads of a traditional MPC. If you've ever used pad controller with smaller pads, and you think it's just as enjoyable experience to use them as a proper sized pad controller, you're being disingenuous.

CR: My man David "Fingers" Haynes doesn't to seem to have an issue, with small pads. (It's all about the person)

Or, buy a Live and not have to worry about extra gear. Additionally, if you've ever brought your Live on the road and wanted to do some record sampling and crate dig, you're missing out. Oh wait - that's right - you don't have an MPC Live. :smoker:

CR: Had the LIVE and X and returned them both. Crate digging on the road. NAH I'm good with that. Cause when we go dig, we buy crates and mark the records of things we find interesting.

What are you getting on about? Even a "cheap" SSD is better than a comparable SD Card or USB Stick - both price and performance. And what does backing up your data have to do with anything? Nice strawman, Charlie.

CR: Always make 3 back up. 1 on-sight, 2 off-sight. Therefore: 1 TB drive need an additional 3 drives.

Nonsense. Honest? LMAO  You do realize that there are more uses than just keys for wireless controllers, right? Additionally, laying down pads and strings is perfectly capable over Bluetooth MIDI, latency and all. I mean, if you're an honest keyboard player and know how to play. ;)

CR: We know who's not a honest musician, if you think Bluetooth doesn't have latency.

Huh? The Live does have WiFi, and Ableton Link works perfect over it. And being able to wirelessly sync to Splice (and update your library) is pretty damn useful, unless you're a fan of wires. Have you ever performed with other musicians using Ableton Link to wirelessly sync your gear? It's pretty awesome - I suggest you give it a try. Branch out and learn.

CR: I have and it works better using cables.

This works if you have a PA and you're performing, and want to utilize more outs.

CR:That's true for a personal monitor.

I was making beats on my apple watch. Then I got a call it lost it all. Not a true story.

It's an odd placement for sure, and those kind of pots are notorious for developing noise, because of all the dust that collects on the rear these machines.

Hey maybe I become famous with music and buy this Apple watch with gold and diamonds.
It looks something that could have been used by Prince or James Brown.
I play a gig with a new shiny One with all the lights flashing that reverberate on the Apple watch.
That's style.

That's called extra style! Plus those guys were masters, monsters and extra hard workers. I admire their sheer output and drive. Now using the MPC ONE to control a DMX light control is where it's at for me.

Tbh if l had no MPC l would just get the One. Smaller pads don't bother me, as long as they are the MPC square type. I do damage on the LPD8 and those pads are smaller. From what l have seen the One sequencer is freakin tight.

See lm just doing drums and that's it. Im not doing entire music productions on it. The 2000XL was the center of my stu when l had it. I did the entire track on it.lm just to see what they say when it drops and see what people say.

Yeah and also I will put a dress made of glass so I reverberate the lights of One and the lights controlled by One controlling the DMX light control.
That's extra extra style.

The One sequencer is exactly the same sequencer of Live and X.
Don't be fooled by Akai marketing.
You already have something better then One.

It is a simple no fluff sampler that did what it did GOOD. I love my 2kxlse2 and will not let it go.
