That's because cpu cannot handle more then that.
After months of irritations looking for the glitches reason, as I found the solution I am just staying with sd card. You know, I have to relax a bit.
I will try with 256gb ssd soon, just to understand if it was a bad hd or a bad internal connection.
But now I am fine and enjoying a glitchless Mpc.
I think Electric has more voice but yeah they just have 4 voice but did you noticed that you have to spend the same money on a digital synth to have more voice? I don't even count analog synth. If you spend less you end up with 4 voice anyway. So the fact I can use 8 of them it's amazing because if I want more voice in standalone I have to spend more just for the synths, if they're not multi timbral I have to buy 8 of them. So I think in term of quality/price Akai is winning, Air synth sound amazing. They sound better than a lot of plugin and digital synth and we had for free
Yeah if you don't have problem with SD just stick with it, in the end you have to make music without weird things happaning
Yeah I kind of like Air synths, especially Electric, and since I got an Mc101, I am more then fine now.
I was not complaining about them, it was just to show that Mpc cpu is way more limited then Ram limitations but nobody talks about that.
I never liked plugins synths to be honest.
mc101 polyphony is around 128 voices, just to compare it with 4 voice Air synths.
But yeah, Air synths are not bad if you take time to edit them.
I use electric sometimes to obtain interesting percussive sounds, it works great this way. And Bass synth also has some very decent Bass sounds, I like the Sine bass a lot.
The only real thing I miss on Mpc now is a granular effect and better XY.
For the rest, I support Akai, they are making a great job with Mpc line.
