Why do that, then it just looks like a Toraiz and Elektron?

Just because it would look like it, doesn't mean its the same of course. Reason is because the current step editor is just so unhandy and not much fun to work with imho (and more people)
For me it would be heaps of fun to program in this way, and for akai it would be a serious contender agains the TR8S, Toraiz and the Octatrack.
Just imagine programming drumbeats like this, with direct controls to edit the sounds, and the option to explode it to seperate tracks after. I would love that!

They just need to update the Step Editor UI.For me it would be heaps of fun to program in this way, and for akai it would be a serious contender agains the TR8S, Toraiz and the Octatrack.
But none of those machines can do half of what the MPC can do.Just imagine programming drumbeats like this, with direct controls to edit the sounds, and the option to explode it to seperate tracks after. I would love that!

Plus, if they just improved this damn step sequencer, i would be very happy!
