Akai is attempting to do the same. Its identity is "more than just a sampler/sequencer". It's the best box out because of this.
I think "MPC Heads" just don't like it. You all seem to only want its bread & butter expanded. Others want exactly what Akai is doing. Personally, I like it. I too would like them to smash existing bugs and flesh out the bread & butter tools. But I also want VIs and other modern tools.
The MPC is a mannequin with no clothes on and every other updated, it's dressed up as someone else. They can't even marry their own product line together. What is the difference between the Akai Force and the MPC LIVE? Number of PADS, Qlinks, and Song Mode.
The truth is, people think the Akai Force is an MPC. Here's an idea, put all these sounds and plug in on the Akai Force and make that the sound module. Flush out the sampler and sequencer of the MPC's then create an AKAI link, that cascades them together.
