Newbie: Phased loop trick

Hi, I've only recently taken stock of my MPC One and am currently working my way through the MPC Bible.
Can anyone direct me as to how to possibly do this sort of effect with the One please?

How much detail do you need?

At a high level:
* Load a sample
* Assign the sample to a pad in program mode
* Set start/loop/end points
* Turn on looping
* Use Semi/Fine tuning to tune the sample

Rince and repeat as many times as you'd like, then play the pads from Main.

I like that though... I don't use looping enough and may have a go at this....put my Brian Eno hat on and go record my own ambient sounds while everyones being quiet outside...

Okay so I've had a play around with this and where I can't get to with my One is where on Loopop's video from 5m35s onwards he gets the 2 loops to just play on and on and the 2 loops begin to drift further and further apart - Is there a function to automate this? And do I just have to make a Sequence to last for loads of bars for this to happen? Obviously I understand if these are the 2 fundamental differences in workflow between a Model Samples/Elektron and a One

Again apologies if this is in the tutorials in the Bible that I'm going through, it's just that I feel excited and inspired and just want to create rather than be held back during this initial honeymoon phase. (But I am working my way through the tutorials as well)

Try making a long sequence (64 bars or so) and Keep the Note On the the length of the sequence.

The nice thing of doing this is that it will retrigger, so you'll get the same sound at the start... the not so nice thing of doing this is that it will retrigger, so you'll get the same sound at the start.

You might be able to get something that "plays forever" in this manner with clips... but I haven't really messed with them so that I am not so sure about.

They drift further apart because both have their own individual length. The MPC however doesn't ''allow'' this because the samples get replayed from the sample start point when the sequence starts again. So there's not really a way to make a sequence to get two different length loops going and getting them to ''phase'' over eachother like how steve reich and others did that with their tape loops.

However, there is some sort of fun hack around this. I had a couple of afternoons and played some piano loops and got quite some cool results.

I’ve done the TubeDigga infinite loop hack several times. It’s not perfect, and certainly not as easy as the Loopop demo, but it’s a blast. Recording it has to be done in real-time from your outs, though (or recreate the performance in your DAW using the MPC Software in Controller Mode and record it as an audio track).
