Ive had multiple instances of All MPCs post 3000 since 1998.Started with the 2000 OG.If you talking about how the MPC stands up in a clinical situation ie on a grid on a daw for instance,i dont know. Why cos i make music.Grids are my enemy. But how they sound when they are just jamming along?had no problem really with any of them. And not really notices any latency either. From the stand alone machines. But yeah if your measuring them up i imagine there is some
s.Araab music and Spinscott does not seem to have a problem with the build quality and latency in the Numarks and those guys burn them.My issue personally for ME is the new range seem sterile and got no vibe to them. But are great if you wanna do that your self. But def certain things missing on the Live/X/One even from the Numark models (JJOS) Was thinking of getting a One but i think i will try something with a bit more analog in the path.I got the SW on the MBP anyhow.
BTW got a 4000 here which def adds something to the mix.Altho its not always what i want. The search for the perfect machine is never ending
Yeah, Araab had a lot of fans, but to me he is just a joke that tries to tap as fast as he can, it's not really that he stresses the unit to the max, as in putting 1000s of notes spread over multiple tracks.. he just used 2 samples and banged away.. horrible perfomance in my eyes xDD. It not burning them, it's using them differently, just fast notes is not stressing the unit at all! its mostly 4 notes at once simultaneously xD (i dont know this spinscott but by mentioning araab i already know enough i guess..)
They seem sterile with no vibe because you probably are biased by previous units thinking of MPCs.
They simply sound MUCH better and even the pads (but this is very personal) are better (for me).
So, what do you miss? I had a JJ 2500 and a 4000, I can't think of anything I can't do on the box that I could on my JJ/4K.
A bit more analog in the path? Man generation gaps are killing me in 2020 xD....... you mean an analog synth or drums or what?
The new MPCs simply are better, it's a nobrainer, sorry. On all aspects it's better, only left is emotional/visual/atmospherical stuff (which is very important in making music, dont get me wrong here!!!)
