when I am on "Track Mute" page, and I select "Solo" option (lower right).....it automatically solos Track 1..according to manual, once I select "solo", I should be then able to select which track I solo..... this happens consistently on every / any project.......although, on "Main" page, when I hit "Solo", it solos the current track, as expected.....Is this correct behavior, or is it a known issue....thanks in advance

yeah on 2.9 and MPC Live and I am trying to figure out what this about as I can't see how this is any good at all. It is totally useless and can't figure out a way around it and still cant tell if it is a bug or what. just useless and wonder if I should report it as a bug. Cant be like this on purpose surely, and who in their right mind would think this is a good idea? I am not impressed or get why.. If it not a bug, then what, how is this any good or useable? Poor implementation is an understatement

Are yall serious right now?

Hit SOLO in the bottom right corner, leave it highlighted.
Now play with the pads, instead of MUTE RED they will be SOLO GREEN.
It works the exact opposite of track mutes because it’s “track solo’s”.
Maybe the manual doesn’t get that point across..

but if you play with it, it’ll come.

Whatever was muted before you hit solo will remain muted while you solo other shit.
Red - mute
green - solo
yellow - normal.

Solo means 1 so don’t ask how to solo multiple tracks cause that’s not what solo means. Can’t do it.

Sorry Lampdog that is not true. I am sitting here with MPC Live in my lap and just followed your instructions.
Go to track mute screen and hit SOLO. It will solo track one, that is what we are talking about.
Also there is a bug where solo info from main screen contradicts and can be buggy but cant reproduce that often. Wait no I just managed too, so I now I have TWO tracks green and solo is on two tracks at once.
OK so all pads on, yellow, no mute no solo.
I am on track 3 in main window ok,. again no solo, no mutes.
Now go to track mute window,
hit solo
This will (and what we are talking about) SOLO track one automatically,
Now don't do anything else, and go back to main window
Remember I am on track 3, here mute is active and reflects solo status ok
Now hit Solo on track 3 in main window
Now go to track mute screen
Now you have two tracks in solo, 1 and 3 with solo active.
Its a bug

I had no problem understanding the track mute screen yesterday when I tried.
It worked as I expected. I haven’t run into the bug yet. I’ll try again after work today though.

there is a bug with muting.... just save project, create new, and then re-load your song and the problem is fixed... i've had this issue several times.... clearly a bug, but easily fixable

i have been in touch with anthony at Akai / InMusic.....since jan 2021...he has replicated bug, and, in theory, is working on a fix.........he's been ghosting me for almost the last 2 months!!! his last reply: Contillo, Anthony <[email protected]>

to me

Hey Michael,

You are not being bothersome at all. I’m sorry I haven’t gotten back to you yet. It took me quite some time to get my hands on an MPC Live II from the office but I finally have. We did speak about some testing weeks ago that I had another tech conduct for me, however, I wanted to get one of these in my hands to confirm their findings. I will follow up with you tomorrow on what I find during testing.

Thank you for your continued patience. It’s much appreciated.

All the Best,

Anthony Contillo

If you’ve messed with the mute options in hardware preferences and still nothing works right for you and it’s a confirmed bug there’s no advice that can help. Maybe I work diff from others and so my advice might just mean nothing.

Supreme, lol, something I am not and have never been.
