New line of Mpc?

So how you guys think new Mpc line will look like?
A hint from new Studio and new touchfx makes me think there will be a touch strip for touchfx XY and maybe general fx controls.
A new OS with arranger and disk streaming?
Who knows what Akai is cooking and when it will be baked to shops?

I am sure that anybody that actually knows is under NDA and unable to talk about it.

Personally I'm hoping that a new product line will have more sample time, processing power, could do with some more rompler style fx, and a continued broader range of synths. I think I'd be interested to see a fusion of the MPC and Force line... though as I say that, it's possible that'd be a bad idea. Could *really* use a better touch screen, some more computer style implementations to enable things like select all and select multiple events. Would be happy to see a tighter integration (or even merging) of clip mode and looper mode. Oh, and if I stuck with the Live mk2 format... could really use one more pair of inputs... could *really* open up some use cases for me.

Yeah I think that Akai should integrate all modes in a better way. Especially clip mode and looper, I would make them as tracks, so they would perfectly integrate in the workflow. Now they are just separated modes. Also XY could be better integrated, they should make it faster to use, especially if there will be a touch strip.
I don't think they will change cpu, it's too complicated, maybe they will just put the 4gb board, we know they have it, sooner or later they will use it.

I guess by the end of this year we will see something new.

I hope they dont release a new lineup this year but focus on tightening up the UI. There are lots of improvements to make and if the rumours are true about the 3.0 update, then disk streaming would lessen the need for more ram (at least for now) and I would appreciate an arranger view/clip based workflow.

Lastly, I hope they just make the OS more stable. Been having loads of crashes and weird bugs. Eg. Audio dropping out on one channel and sometimes total silence, track mutes not muting, q links not responding.

But then the new MPC Studio came out and low and behold - that touch strip that was pictured in the article "leak" made an appearance. So it's likely Akai are looking at keyboard "workstation" options for sure:

Whether they ever see the light of day is a whole other subject, though. I can imagine they are being affected by the chip shortage that the entire world has been dealing with (honestly I'm blown away that they were able to bring the new MPC Studio to market)...

My money is on it being like an MPC touch type set up myself, a big standalone workstation like that is a pretty niche market imho, whereas a lower priced controller keyboard with a MPC style touchscreen would probably sell better, n.i. did pretty well with the komplete line of keyboards and seeing as the studio 2 seems to closely follow the maschine mikro ethos and design cues I can see this being along the lines of akais answer to the komplete line up..

Yeah I also saw the link of Mpc keyboard.
It's possible is coming next, but I also have the feeling that after 4 years and win over competition (M+, MC707 etc), it would make a lot of sense for Akai to make a new line, at least a new X, with same features as the current ones plus some new bonus
Just speculation of course, but given that we already had a Live2 and a new entry level One, X is still waiting for a new form, maybe a X2.
As for chips, I read somewhere that Akai bought all the Soc they use on Mpc and also a 4gb stock that has not been used yet.
So maybe a X2 with 4gb soc?
Or the keyboard one?
Or both?

By the look of the Studio mk2, ribbons might replace Qlinks.

Also, I think a smaller MPC will raise its head one day, especially after that leak of the new Roland SP with the 20 pads that disappeared so sudden...

I agree, they need to make an OS that does not have so many bugs/crashes.
When everyone dumps their hardware for the new line, I’ma cop a cheap backup to my mpc live v1

I do think the MPC X needs a hardware upgrade & possibly some features that only the X has but that could fork the OS & screw the rest of us.

I’m hoping for a keyboard workstation from Akai.

New SP leak? When was this?

Why would you buy a keyboard when what's finished lets not go down the maschine path please get usb audio fixed should be at least 16 out stereo and mono over USB the rest with a keyboard is mute.. my opinion just another non finished .. purchase.. the software is so un usable I like it but im a cubase user and love the mpc sequencer.. just give me standalone 16 outs over USB and I'm done I have enough keyboards controllers in my studio.. just bought keylab mk2

I just got rid of my JUNO-DS88 synthesizer keyboard and got a Nektar SE25 MIDI keyboard until I get my Korg Nautilus keyboard workstation, however, I might be inclined to get a Akai keyboard workstation too.

I mean, Air synths are quite good but not at the level to build a workstation around them.
At least, I never thought Mpc could be considered a workstation like a Fantom or Kronos and so on.
