Whether they ever see the light of day is a whole other subject, though. I can imagine they are being affected by the chip shortage that the entire world has been dealing with (honestly I'm blown away that they were able to bring the new MPC Studio to market)...
Yeah I also saw the link of Mpc keyboard.
It's possible is coming next, but I also have the feeling that after 4 years and win over competition (M+, MC707 etc), it would make a lot of sense for Akai to make a new line, at least a new X, with same features as the current ones plus some new bonus
Just speculation of course, but given that we already had a Live2 and a new entry level One, X is still waiting for a new form, maybe a X2.
As for chips, I read somewhere that Akai bought all the Soc they use on Mpc and also a 4gb stock that has not been used yet.
So maybe a X2 with 4gb soc?
Or the keyboard one?
Or both?
