I was having the same problem as others with a message reading "currently not spoofed into any mode" after the hakai os had been installed.
All I can do is take you through the process that worked for me and I'm sure it will work for live and live 2 owners too.
1) I restored my mpc x os back to its last original os.
2) I plugged my USB pen drive into the back of the mpc x using slot 1
3) I put my mpc x into controller mode using my laptop and then clicked the This PC icon. It should show your USB pen drive as it is plugged into your mpc.
4) I right clicked on the USB pen drive icon and scrolled to the format option.
5) I named the USB pen drive in capital letters FORCE
6) I did a full exFAT format on the USB pen drive "Not the quick option"
7) once the format is complete I dragged and dropped the hakai os onto the USB pen drive icon now named FORCE.
9) I closed my mpc DAW on my laptop forcing my mpc x back into standalone mode.
10) I went to the settings menu on the mpc x and clicked the update from USB drive option. It installed the new os and this time booted into the force mode
I think what made all the difference is the USB pen drive never left the back if my mpc x whilst the naming, formatting and copying took place.
I'm not totally up on my akai force skills yet but I had some clips launched and had a plug in running this really is a welcomed and awesome piece of software and 100% works on the mpc x
I would just like to say a big thanks to the people behind all the hard work happy Xmas all
