YES SUCCESS on successful loading the hakai force os on my MPC X
I was having the same problem as others with a message reading "currently not spoofed into any mode" after the hakai os had been installed.
All I can do is take you through the process that worked for me and I'm sure it will work for live and live 2 owners too.
1) I restored my mpc x os back to its last original os.
2) I plugged my USB pen drive into the back of the mpc x using slot 1
3) I put my mpc x into controller mode using my laptop and then clicked the This PC icon. It should show your USB pen drive as it is plugged into your mpc.
4) I right clicked on the USB pen drive icon and scrolled to the format option.
5) I named the USB pen drive in capital letters FORCE
6) I did a full exFAT format on the USB pen drive "Not the quick option"
7) once the format is complete I dragged and dropped the hakai os onto the USB pen drive icon now named FORCE.
8) before going back into standalone mode on my mpc x. I right clicked my USB pen drive icon and ejected it so my laptop could no longer see it but was still left in the back of my mpc.
9) I closed my mpc DAW on my laptop forcing my mpc x back into standalone mode.
10) I went to the settings menu on the mpc x and clicked the update from USB drive option. It installed the new os and this time booted into the force mode
I think what made all the difference is the USB pen drive never left the back if my mpc x whilst the naming, formatting and copying took place.
I'm not totally up on my akai force skills yet but I had some clips launched and had a plug in running this really is a welcomed and awesome piece of software and 100% works on the mpc x
I would just like to say a big thanks to the people behind all the hard work happy Xmas all

I'm still in the 'honeymoon' period with my MPC, so I won't be installing this right now, but its great that this has been figured out and made available. Lets hope that Akai doesn't patch it out later down the line.

Thanks for your feedback. We actually found a few bugs that makes it hit/miss and we corrected them, There will be a new release somewhere after the holidays.

Nice stefan! good job persistence pays off!

I beleive its akin to character encoding. The mpc is set to utf8, where as many of the non-north americans don't use utf8 as their default.

Likely when formatted from mpc and named while plugged into the mpc the string is converted to the proper character encoding and fixes the problem.

I'm not absolutely sure about that, but its something i should test when i get motivated, or other people can test as well.

If its not working for you, restore the official firmware for now. I'll correct the issue in the next little while, i currently dont have enough bandwidth to make another upload at the moment.

you guys shouldnt have to kludge it to make it work. better to just go back to ofw and wait for a week or two.

Trakz wrote:Peace all. I got this 2 load on my X. Guess I’ll need an ableton like controller to use this properly. It renders a lot of buttons on the X useless. Dope stuff none the less.

If you’re going for the Novation Launchpad mk3 I can share my midi.cfg file with you.

Brief update.
Yesterday Jay Ray One helped me for more than one hour (even more maybe) and he also had access to my pc and MPC one via remote but no matter how, whatever he tried lead to an unsuccessful attempt: no way we could implement the Force os on my unit.
It doesn’t reboot in any way and just a black blank screen appears instead. Then when I switch the unit on again, it appears a message from Hakai but not the Hakai logo, and again no Force software.
Fun fact: now my MPC doesn’t reboot after installing 2.9 or 2.8 or previous original os, the only one that loads without problems is the 2.10 original.
Isn’t this strange?
Anyway I hope there will be more chances for me in the future to try again.
Thanks Jay ray one for your help and efforts!

Don't worry bro (I am Jay Ray-One), well keep searching for a way to get you on board soon. For now you will have to stay on the official firmware until we've sorted it out for you. (The battle continues)

Just wondering, is there any way AKAI could brick your MPC with a future update when you apply this hack? I'm just thinking aloud here, not advertising for them to do this.

My guess is not because it's based on their 2.10.1 firmware. If it would brick our 2.10.1 custom firmware it will also brick everyones 2.10.1 firmware. It would mean that they would intentionaly targed all the custom firmware users.

I don't think so, Akai is not our enemy we arre rather thankfull for them not closing down the entire units like sony does with their playstation.
