I'd just love an MPC that was built like the 60, which is also (in my opinion) still the best looking MPC ever. That with the features of the X, with a brighter screen, and video out to use a big ass monitor :)
Let's save the planet (that's my excuse) and stop using plastic....give us a metal case in that lovely grey/creamy off-white retro finish with rock solid buttons that feel like they will last decades and a real leather wrist rest.

Metal is great but very $$$. I'd love to see a modular approach with a solid beautiful metallic frame (60 could be a sexy base yea, but the X is already pretty nice tbh) that you buy once and lasts forever. And then buy replacement modules that you can update as years go by, RAM, Main board, pads, encoders, etc. But of couse it probably wouldn't be as lucrative as selling a whole new product every X years. Although I think it could be.

Everybody is asking for more outputs.

Am I the only one asking for more inputs ?

If I could have 8 inputs (with at least one XLR-combo with phantom), I would just get rid of the mixer in the setup.

And when we see how buggy is the USB host audio right now, I don't want to hear about connecting an external audio card over USB.

This and then I'll be asking for global linear track recording transversal to the sequences (though we can already use one huge sequence right now).

Of course it’s just speculation but it tracks with what Akai does. Yes, I agree that dude is a POS but it makes sense what he’s saying.

Anyways, I overstated my “disappointment”. I really don’t care. I love my live and it’s the best mpc ever made. But I wouldn’t be mad if they came out with new hardware that’s even better not just new color schemes etc

Amen to that :worthy:

Better CPU (i.e, current gen)
16GB ram minimum.
NVMe drive socket.
Audio streaming.
Linear audio recording in song mode.

Stop using your paying customers as beta testers.
Fix the effing bugs.

That's who they need to also help fix the bugs that customers run into with their own systems. Without the public, how will they know XY& Z new bugs now exist? Akai has their own resources, but to find bugs everybody is needed, Akai can't do all that alone otherwise all old bugs would be fixed already.

this is a great idea for the 35 anniversary machine; but I think it should be based off the mpc3000; and have the same d/a circuits, but obvjously with modern additions.

but for ur idea yes the orginal mpc 60 is defo one of the best looking mpc's but the mpc60 mk2 is probably the ugliest mpc ever; looking like 1970's cash register.

Nice one
But seriously though, they know very well some bugs have been there since many older updates. They're just unable to fix a good amount of them and are still creating new ones with every new updates. Even on older features that used to work fine.
If they need beta testers, then they should release beta versions. And make an older 'stable' version with little to no bug at all for people needing stability. That's how many other manufacturers do it. What is the stable, bugless version of AKAI os? They all have their issues, some worse than others but still.
Gonna be the negative guy again but whatever, it is what it is.

All older bugs that they can reproduce in their systems are being worked on. And will be fixed in time. Fixing things is not as easy as tightening a screw. Research has to be done to determine what caused the issue first, which can be indirectly three to four code layers or more back. If a bug wasn't fixed yet, it's because it's not as easy as you may think, and takes a lot more research than you probably expected, otherwise it would be done. The research team aren't in the back room failing at trying to kill a fly with a sledge hammer.

Akai release Beta versions, to the Beta teams that signed up to be Beta testers.

Akai's bugs are bigger than they can initially control. I'm sure Akai is doing all they can to fix bugs they can reproduce. But if we the public can't reproduce the bugs we say exist, how will they know what bug to fix? This is why they need you, To become Akai's public Bug reporter too! Your local government aren't the only one that needs you, Akai does too!

Actually WE are the beta testers, AKAI's official testers must be at the pre alpha stage where pressing a button might set the device on fire at any given moment.
