Well anyway, I get that you don’t find either Hybrid 3 nor TubeSynth inspiring and feel they’re turds. Doesn’t mean others can’t get very useful sounds out of them.

the analogy i use is like cooking a dish u dont want rotten ingriedients when ur cooking ur dish, u want quality ingredients then u cook up using those, as that makes it easeri to get a good outcome.
while ur idealogy is like just getting a bunch of crappy elements and then try make a good make something good, and while yes that does show skill, but i prefer to start with elements that sound good and inspire.
its the same argument that j-zone had back in the day; where he only wanted to use shitty dollar bin records to make beats; and yes he made some bangers but imagine how much better his beats would of been if looked for dope records instead of those dollar bing reject records.
also who wants to listent to those shitty records and chop notes out of a record u dont like and does not insipire u, versus choping sections and or notes from a record that does inspire.

That said, doesn't mean shitty presets mean it's a shitty synth! And vice versa! At the end of the day, musicians are called artists as it is an art. And it's dependant on the ability of that artist to be able to create art using whatever tools are available, good or bad. Do you think Picasso, mozart or chopin complained about their tools? No. They just got on and created with what they had!
Trouble with people these days, myself included, is that they want everything handed to them on a plate. They think that getting another synth/fx, either hard or soft, will make them better or inspire them more. It doesn't always work that way, you have to put the effort in to try and create something using what you have.
I bought a live 2, found it awkward to use as its so different from what I'm used to, so I ended up getting an mc-707 due to having a preference for Roland gear. But tbh, I should've saved my money! The mc-707 is not inspiring me in the slightest! The stuff I've made on the live is 100 times better and I'm only a beginner!
That doesn't mean the mc-707 is crap! Just look at the stuff people can do with it. They are more skilled than me. But then I don't get the time now I used to have. Plus I'm old and tired! Lol
Coming from a oldies humorous perspective, just stop complaining and make some tunes!![]()

B-Wise wrote:I got the MC-707 too, but only use as synth. It sounds amazing & the engine can go deeeeep. But that little ass screen tho. Why Roland did us like that?
sl23 wrote:The screen doesn't bother me, least not when in easy mode. But deep edit is too much for that lil screen. Should've been least the size of the screen on the mc-909! But for me at least, I preferred the sounds on the mc-909.
Looked at zenology, but more shit to install that I don't want to, one thing I absolutely hated about the MPC line, installing all that shit that comes with it. Least with roland hardware there little to no software requirements to install. I don't use any of the MPC Software, but like the fact you can backup projects on pc. Double-edged sword! Just wish it was portable.
