Don't quite understand why there would be same exact sample played at the same time since it's just 1 pad hit each time.
However, here's some tests done:
I played "kick-snare-kick-snare" continuously like a normal drum beat.
1) The "choke" (it's like the sound plays and got cut off on its own immediately, before the next pad is even struck yet) may happen usually after a while of playing. And when it happens, it will happen again fairly soon. After a couple of occurrences, it will be normal again until some time later where it might happen again a couple times, etc.
2) It happens with my own drum project or one derived from a default template, such as the hiphop template. So I would presume it's not my project.
3) It didn't seem to happen if I'm using Full Level, at least for now.
4) It happens even in controller mode. I presume the sound would be played by the desktop MPC software, so the sound playback itself isn't the issue.
5) It happens where I loaded my project from the SSD or SD card. So I also presume it's not the storage medium.
6) CPU and memory is very minimal, so I also presume it's not those.
7) I also have the MPC Studio MK2 and the project plays fine. So I presume it's the MPC Live 2 or its pads.
I changed the pads' sensitivities and thresholds and no big difference. But it felt (felt but not conclusive) that it doesn't happen much if I hit the pads harder. But since the pad triggered, there no good reason why the sound would get cut off "randomly".
9) Tried at least4 different versions of firmware, same thing.
So I'm wondering is it me and my hitting or it's the device. I'm hoping I don't have to send it back as I really like the thing. Okay, understatement, I love the thing.
