1. Make or play a clip with Odyssey & put it's sync on or off depending on which delay your comparing it to. Sustain=0 Echo mix=50%.
2. Play the clip & move the Echo Time slider around & listen to how it affects the sound.
3. Do the same with those two delays & tell me if they sound exactly the same.

I just tried that, in sync mode it's exactly the same effect, provided RAMP is at 50.
The effects is the same but not the sound.
Just like the Air Reverb & a Eventide Reverb is the same effect, but most definitely not the same sound.
When I was doing my research on Echo, I learned that it's an actual emulation of the an actual Echoplex guitar pedal. They have
modern emulation pedals of it that sound kinda better, but then your limited to only using 1 at a time. With it as a FX insert we could use it multiple times on the same & or other tracks.
Akai owns Echo so they could make it standalone or at least let us run sounds into Odyssey. But then we're limited to 8 & wouldn't be able to use other synths plugs. So It's best if Akai would just release it for free or for decent price for just for me, since I seem to be the only 1 asking for it. Or at least tell me why they can't or won't do so. It just doesn't make sense.
To Akai:
Go to hell mysterious red ninja with your nonsensical business methods.
