The Odyssey delay already exists as a separate effect, it's the analog delay/analog delay sync. It's the same effect. So you can wire $15 to AKAI now, I'm sure they'll appreciate the gesture.

Yep. They do the exact same thing.
Maybe because it wasn’t bright and shiny it was overlooked by many.

I suppose this plugin has its charms. I gave it a poke earlier. its hard to guage "value". Not sure jura chrous will be one of those items i find myself using a whole bunch but perhaps a nice item for keygroups and mono synthesizers. Only time will tell now.

Yup, tho I don't mind getting it for free 8)

Hey B-Wise - have you tried this: :hmmm:

Many of the plugins overlap in features. Some can completely disappear and users will still have all the same features, options in other plugins.

As of now, I barely use Akai‘s plugins anymore. While they were the only thing we had back in the days (2012 with Ren) and I disliked AIR then wholeheartedly from knowing them from Pro Tools, these effects have definitely grown on me.

I don‘t actually have a need for another chorus because I only use them subtly most of the time. I might give that one a go though soon.

I think we went over this when Delay Pro came out & no they are not the same as Echo. Similar tho, but I like Echo better & not because of the shiny package or whatever Lamp was talking about. Echo is it's own thing. Why Akai won't make it standalone is more to do with a lack of demand, which probably stems from people thinking Echo is the same without really testing them. Beside me who else has ever praised Echo?

Simple test:
1. Make or play a clip with Odyssey & put it's sync on or off depending on which delay your comparing it to. Sustain=0 Echo mix=50%.
2. Play the clip & move the Echo Time slider around & listen to how it affects the sound.
3. Do the same with those two delays & tell me if they sound exactly the same.

No WiFi currently & my plugins needs to be reauthorized so I can't test Delay Pro, but I'm positive that I did when it first dropped & the conclusion was that it's dope in it own way but it wasn't the same as Echo. Which is a good thing. Who the hell wants the same fx with different shiny packages. :smh:

I just tried that, in sync mode it's exactly the same effect, provided RAMP is at 50.

I just tried that and got 2 very similar but distinctly different sounds. :hmmm:

The effects is the same but not the sound.
Just like the Air Reverb & a Eventide Reverb is the same effect, but most definitely not the same sound.

When I was doing my research on Echo, I learned that it's an actual emulation of the an actual Echoplex guitar pedal. They have
modern emulation pedals of it that sound kinda better, but then your limited to only using 1 at a time. With it as a FX insert we could use it multiple times on the same & or other tracks.

Akai owns Echo so they could make it standalone or at least let us run sounds into Odyssey. But then we're limited to 8 & wouldn't be able to use other synths plugs. So It's best if Akai would just release it for free or for decent price for just for me, since I seem to be the only 1 asking for it. Or at least tell me why they can't or won't do so. It just doesn't make sense.

Had it occurred to you that Akai/Air built Jura from the ground up and it was easy to part out the chorus from Jura, whereas Odyssey was done by WayOutWare and there may be a bit more complication? :hmmm: Just playing Devil's Advocate here...

Yes, but that's a maybe reason. Akai can state the official reason. But I don't how to find that out. It's the mysterious red ninja so I doubt sending a email acquiring about secrets is gonna get me answers.

Maybe Akai or Air can build their own Echoplex emulation from the ground up

Like I said I think more of a lack of demand for it. I love the instant funkyness from Odyssey but I can see why many users wouldn't like using it, which is many don't even know the uniqueness of Echo, plus there are analog delays that as mentioned has the "same effect" so to most users they're like why do this guy keep asking for FX when it's already there?

Here's a link of a test beat I did using Echo. More info on what I did is in the link.

^^ this right here ^^

Love it or hate it, the Juno chorus is somewhat legendary. The echo on the Odyssey? Not so much. I don't even think the original from 1972-1978 had one, did it?

No it didn't. Echo is a separate emulation that Akai just didn't advertise well. It's more popular with guitar players. There's a great YouTube interview with Adrian Utley from Portishead who has used multiple original versions of the Echoplex. Also, YouTube the inventor Mike Battle & hear is crazy story of the Echoplex & all of its different versions.

Most MPC/Force users may know about that pedal so Akai should done a better job at expressing the significance of Echo so wouldn't get look over the way it does or get
mistaken for generic delay FX as is the current case.

The Juno Chorus is cool to have it on any track for $15 bucks I hope they do the same for Echo & this time hopefully they do a better job hyping it up by explaining how many Rockstars used the Echoplex or just post my test beat

Thanks for even responding this request of mine.
