So, on the internal drive there is a folder called "products" and inside of it a file product-id if i recall correctly. when online the mpc will attempt to fetch this file from the servers, i assume it tells the software that new plugins are available, however when this file changes in any way the plugins are deactivated. Theoretically, if one had a backup of the product-id file. They could restore the one that was working at the time their plugins work and the plugins will repopulate. There is no need for all of that i just mentioned it to illustrate what i believe the file does. If there is a firmware update or change on the server side for available products the unit should fetch the product-id, deactivate your plugins and then list the new ones when you log in again and ask for reactivation. That's how its designed to work.

After updating it might be possible that you have to initially re-authorise as it sounds like they've changed a few things. If you still have issues on 2.12.2 after all this, let us know more details.

Also, if you are having problems with the authorisation process itself, i.e. you cannot authorise at all (e.g. activation server not communicating), let us know more details. But this is IMO, clearly a separate issue to the forced reactivation problem.

I can't surprise my paid stuff at all, got the newest free ones though. Newest firmware. Not sure what else to say.

Plugin deactivation is still an issue after upgrading to 2.12.2. For all of you itching to buy the shiny new plugins, remember the following:

A) Akai forces their units to communicate with their servers, regardless of what you choose
B) If you keep your unit offline, plugins will intentionally deactivate, forcing you to phone home

Do you post them?

Also, did you ever send me the Force factory file? I dm you my email. My Force crashed twice last night. After I converted 16 stereo samples to Sum mono. Maybe it was still processing in the background or something when I saved or tried to save. :Sigh:

There was also 1 sample that I mistakenly give the same name as the first sample, but after I renamed it & loaded the first sample again then converted them to mono again it saved.

I don't have this. Have you reached out to Akai support?

Just loaded a pretty close to finished beat just for a quick listen. Changed some levels, saved, realized that it sounded a bit different and saw that my delay pros and flava pros wanted a reauthorisation.
The cool part is that in my new saved file all delay pros and flava pros are completely missing and i have to redo all that stuff. Thanks akai for wasting my time, I hope that they seriously get their s%&t together with that annoying issue. Newest firmware btw

Honestly, there's nothing for them to get together at this point. Akai has only doubled down on the behavior and say it's intended. I'm now asked to reactivate once a week on the regular.

I've learnt to Save As with every project save. I'm pleased it creates a sub folder for each new save so you are not overwriting anything or forced to create a new folder yourself every time.

Is there any consumer protection agency or anything that could help me? Especially because I have never been able to use my paid content on one of my mpc's at all.. isn't that against some law or something? Maybe I could call the better business bureau or something?
