I spent a good while last night trying to copy notes from one track to another correctly on my MPC Live 2 last night and wasn't able to make it work! I was working on a project (originally loaded from MPC 1000 files then saved in the new format - just in case that's relevant) and wanted to copy the notes from one track in a sequence to a different track so that they'd play with a different program.
The result was a load of random notes (including ones for pads that aren't even assigned and were never pressed) dumped into the destination track, that's the only way to describe it. I tried reloading the project, rebooting the machine...no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to correctly copy the notes into another track. I think I've had the problem before but assumed I must have just done something obviously wrong and waved it off. Am I doing something incorrect here, or is this a known bug?
- Selected pencil on Sequence bar
- Selected "Copy Events"
- Used the wheel to choose the current track as the source and an existing (but empty) track as the destination. On separate attempts, I tried both the "Replace" and "Merge" options
